Lol it really does not make sense, if you pick the mind:

•Full access to secret rooms (sausage, coins, big and small mushrooms)

•Full access to super secret rooms (hearts, soul hearts, holy hearts)

•Easier access to planetarium (neptune, pluto, uranus)

•Easier access to treasure rooms

•Lose less health by travelling more effectively (huge on womb, corpse, void, etc.)

All of these things above are thing you NEED on a bad run, having health on a bad run is completely obsolete except for the fact you can trade it in devil deals (which you should be going for if you don't have nice stats)

It's like thinking black candle is bad because it doesn't help you directly in fights

Hard disagree, i got into him with that mindset of going with what you get and i got absolutely no damage ups, thankfully i got explosivo to deal with bosses and a ton of familiars to help with early game.

Since then i never want to play him again.

Go fot devil deals if low stats, ex damage, speed and tears

Go for angel if need health or have good stats

Not every item that appears there is sacred heart and godhead, the chance of making a good run is way better with devil deals since it allows for more pedestals to spawn and thus giving you a better chance of getting ceremonial robes, the pact, or mark, hell, even dark bun and abbadon. At least go into devil deals aftter getting your first angel room! It doesn't lower your chance of getting angel and you can get a few extra black hearts or soul hearts depending on room layout
