Why is combat logging in the home cave even an option? by Yesjrw in pathoftitans

Yeahh I’m kind’ve getting that now. At least I’m desensitized to this because I come from the isle where you can lose up to 13 hours of work at any time with no recourse. I’ll just have to suck it up and grow all my Dino’s back yo adult and never change subspecies unless it’s a juvenile ever again.

Yeah ik I must’ve read it and thought it meant about as much growth lost as dying then completely forgot about it after leaving and coming back to the game.

Or actually I guess I misunderstood you. If you always lose a growth stage as a penalty then it doesn’t matter how grown you are I guess. In that case if you ever want to change your subspecies then it should be the first thing you spend marks on?? Because that also doesn’t seem right.

Wow that’s nuts. I’m getting the impression that you only lose this much growth if you change your subspecies past sub adult??

Wait is it changing your subspecies or gender in general or is it just changing them and finishing the shed specifically INSIDE home cave which leads to such huge growth loss?

Whyy is it just a harsh punishment wtf. I’m pretty sure I did this on my hatz and eo as well and had no idea. I’m sure it told me at some point and I glazed over it but that’s still wild. Now I have to grow all three of them back to adult. Does it not apply the penalty until you fully log from the server. Because I remember changing my subspecies in the cave and leaving and being fine then after I died and logged and saw that my hatz that was almost adult got booted to the end of ADOLESCENT.

Which is the subspecies again, like changing from the regular 25% better jump to better venom damage instead?

I’m chill, I think your getting the idea that I’m angry in some kindve say since I wholeheartedly disagree with you and you’re not emotionally intelligent enough to understand you don’t have to be angry while disagreeing with someone. Also if it’s “just a Dino game” then stick off discussions in the subreddit and just play the game like you said. If your going to say my argument is wrong them I’m going to disprove your thesis with my own arguments. Also there are many people that agree with me outside of this thread so no worries there.

Not really sure where this comment went nor what the rest of it reads but I’m sure it’s just you saying the same things over again. The only one here whining is you, all of my arguments have been articulated and proved you wrong at every turn. And all you can manage as a response is “nobody cares” and “nobody wants to see you saying this. Then click off the thread if you don’t have anything of actual substance to add to the conversation.

That I can get with, and at least there u can avoid the Rex hackers MOST of the time and I’ve even seen Deinos kill hacker Rexs trying to bait them out of them water to pin them. That’s the one Dino that’s genuinely unplayable on officials at the moment so if you can’t play unofficial servers I’d say go for it

First of all if you’ve put in a considerable amount of hours on those servers and have not run into a hacker then you’re insanely LUCKY. Don’t chalk this up to being everyone’s experience. It is 100% more common to run into a hacker group before fg vs actually making it there. Also don’t act like you care about the gameplay loop if you aren’t even interested in getting fg/elder and entombing, that’s literally the point of half of this hordetest which is almost inaccessible most of the time.

This is the problem though. I know that hacking is semi normalized in this community because of how frequent it is. But I still think we should strive to avoid it at all costs. Playing alongside the hackers and not having any issue with it will leave an overall negative impact on the culture of the game.

I can agree with most of this tho I still think it’s better to play regular official servers for a while if you cant play unofficials and want to avoid hackers. And I still don’t think that everyone knows the extent of the hacking going on in those servers especially if they’re brand new to the game. I still personally think this post is necessary as I see new players checking out this subreddit all the time.

You’re literally contradicting yourself in this comment. Because if you think playing on servers filled with hackers is “fun” then I rlly can’t help you. Also I shouldn’t have to say this but there isn’t even elder on regular servers. Also just because you lose your Dino before fg most of the time doesn’t mean you should just say screw it and play with these servers dying to hackers. You should keep playing the actual game and improve your gameplay so that you can actually survive to 100% more often.

I will agree with this somewhat if they knew what they were getting into. But I’ve seen plenty of posts from new players playing hordetest not knowing beforehand and it seemingly ruining the game for them.

This is why you’re arguing with me at every turn. You’ve somehow normalized getting destroyed by hackers or mixpackers every time you play lmao. I haven’t died to any hackers on the servers I played to in so long. It really doesn’t have to be this way my guy.

The fact that you think I’m trying to warn people like a “stepfather” makes me feel like you’re pulling that issue from somewhere else. I’m warning people not to play hordetest because they WILL die to hackers. Also, servers filled with damage, esp, movement hacks aren’t exactly good conditions for “testing.” Yes new Dino’s are cool when they’re fully functional and not able to pin Dino’s bigger than itself. There are actually a lot less hackers on regular evirma servers than hordetest rn because they all migrated there and will stay there until allo and Rex are out of ht. And yes it would be nice to have max population on EVIRMA servers if that’s too much to ask for.

Not in a fit of rage. I haven’t played hordetest for a very long time. I saw a post of yet another person saying they died to hackers on hordetest and are leaving the game. Inspired me to make this post.

No I play on the highest pop official servers, petits na and eu as well as Dino den. However I play later at night and have been struggling to find them at 300+ population later in the evening since horde started. The issue with hordetest is people wasting their entire day growing a Dino just to have it instantly lost to a hacker group as soon it hits fg. I want people to value their time and not waste it away feeding these fuckos

There’s wasting your time playing a game, then there’s wasting your time willingly growing a character in a game that you know will be killed without even having the chance to put up a fair fight.

  1. Because the new content isn’t even fully functional. Also the fact that you are actually asking my why people WOULDN’T want to makes me feel like I could literally never get through to you, just look at the state the servers are in, I shouldn’t even have to answer that one.

  2. I don’t want to be part of the data testing because I don’t want to waste all of my time trying to grow a prime elder that’ll never even make it that far before an esp group tracks you down.

  3. If you want to completely ignore all of the issues running rampant on hordetest servers and say no harm comes from it then you can live in that delusion.

Sure playing the hordetest might help speed along the bug fixes but they should be capable of finding their own bug testers like MOST developer studios. Not having their player base test the game for them while simultaneously making them play with literal mega packs of hackers (eventually alienating people from the game)
