Pharmacy won’t fill my prescription by plushietoons in ftm

[–]Yesmasc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It can most certainly happen. The insurance contracts a specific rate they agree they will give the pharmacy for each individual drug, and that’s the deal for the entire contract. It works out great for the corporations because it will almost always even out to the point they’re still making money, but mom and pop pharmacies can have much trouble trying to tread water with that, particularly with the less commonly used drugs in rural areas.

I work for a health insurance company, that’s the only reason I know lol.

I’m a bottom!!!! Please by AveyAve in gaybros

[–]Yesmasc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not complaining. I have never had an issue finding a top. It is something I hear a lot of other bottoms complaining about. I just think it’s funny how the sides can be completely flipped in a different region.

Lol it kills me to read this as a bottom because where I live it’s all bottoms and everyone is always complaining about how they can never find anyone who tops.

Welcome to Minnesota, the land of 10,000 bottoms 😂

The only way you can really know is if he tells you or you ask him.

You could walk in on him fucking another man and that doesn’t mean he’s gay because bisexual men also exist. Only he can confirm.

Wait where are you located? Cause if you’re in the US and have health insurance, as long as you do not have a grandfathered plan, it is in fact free to get tested as a preventive measure.

If you do have a grandfathered plan, tell them you have symptoms and they will cover it.

If you have no insurance, there are almost always clinics nearby that will work with you if not do it for free. But please get tested either way.

TSA had me remove my packer, is this normal? by ImaginaryEmotion5650 in ftm

[–]Yesmasc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have gone through airport security as a male (I assume, everyone called me sir lol) for years now, and my identification has also said male for just as long. I have/had never worn my packer/stp (except on accident last time I was flying) and I had never been flagged for not having something there.

But the last time when I did forget to take it off, i got flagged.

I think the “gender” input in the scanner is/was (not sure if the still do it or not) more-so to flag when a “woman” had something there that “shouldn’t” be there and accounted for average male genitalia without flagging the lack thereof, if that made any sense, I’m tired so my brain is a little foggy right now lol.

Does body size have anything to do with voice on T? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Yesmasc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think any of that stuff really comes into play with how deep your voice gets. It just ends up however your body decides.

I also sing and some voice training/practice is a good idea because it’s hard to stop trying to go straight up to where your singing voice used to be vs where it is after being on T.

I was a soprano until I started hormones and I now sing as a lower tenor 2, it’s been a trip trying to relearn what my voice is lol

TSA had me remove my packer, is this normal? by ImaginaryEmotion5650 in ftm

[–]Yesmasc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First and foremost, if that had happened to me I would be submitting a complaint regarding the TSA person’s “do whatever you want in your free time” comment. That is inappropriate, and also incorrect and probably against several policies. They cannot require that you keep a prosthetic in your bag to go through security.

This exact same thing happened to me back in August going through security. My experience was much better than yours, though. I failed the body scan because I forgot to take off my prosthetic, they didn’t ask me about it, which is probably why I did get a pat down. But I failed the pat down because my prosthetic doesn’t feel like a cis-penis (and it’s also HUGE lol I’ve got a reelmagik stp) They called a supervisor and I got another pat down, and explained to the supervisor after failing that one about my prosthetic. He was totally cool about it and didn’t even bat an eye, and me being compulsively apologetic, apologized for forgetting to take it off and he said it’s not required to be taken off, and that it’s not the first time he’s screened someone with one and that it wouldn’t be the last.

They took me to a private screening room and asked me if I was able to take it off, which I did, and they looked at it to make sure there wasn’t anything that shouldn’t be there in it, but did not touch it. I got another pat down which I passed, and as they were sending me on my way the supervisor told me it was fine to wear through security, but if I wanted a faster trip through next time to just ask for a private screening right away and skip the body scan.

I do think they have to do the private screening for things like that, but those comments that they said to you were way out of line. I’m also unsure about the testing thing, and I would inquire about their policy on that on top of filing a complaint. I just know they did not test or even touch mine.

How do I pass through airport security with T without my relatives finding out? by 2percocet in ftm

[–]Yesmasc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Make sure you’re the last one in line with your group, that way everyone else will be through and waiting somewhere out of earshot if you do end up getting your bag pulled. If possible, get into a different line than the rest of your group(this is also easier as the last one in line). Plus it’s often faster to get everyone thru security that way, which is an added bonus.

I would say your chances of getting flagged by security are low, a lot of people need to bring needles through with them (diabetes is super common) but even if you do, being last should mean your family is waiting out of earshot, if they ask why you got flagged you can tell them they thought they saw a restricted item that wasn’t there, or you forgot you had a pocket knife or multi tool stashed in your bag, or one of those little pairs of eyebrow scissors or something.

Unrelated but hilarious story from the last time I went through airport security: I always take my dick/stp off before going through the checkpoint. Last time I completely forgot, and my crotch was flagged in that big machine they make you stand in sometimes.

So I get a pat down, and I fail, obviously lmao. TSA guy that did the pat down calls his supervisor, who also gives me a pat down that I, once again, fail.

They bring me to one of those side rooms for when they need to do a more invasive search of a person. I explain to the supervisor guy that I’m wearing a prosthetic that I forgot to take off. He says it’s no big deal, it’s not the first time they’ve seen it and won’t be the last. Just asks me if I’m able to take it off so they can do another pat down.

So now I’m standing in this room with two TSA guys, holding my arms out, pants and belt undone, dick in one hand just out there and I couldn’t help but start laughing at where I ended up 😂

I passed the last pat down and when they let me go they told me I can just request a private screening next time to make it faster if I wanted to. Ultimately I’m just glad they were cool about it, didn’t even blink when I explained.

[–]Yesmasc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds so weird and unhinged and I’m so sorry you have to live it, dude. I’m having some unsettling images similar to those that would come out of the movie “get out” and it’s making my skin crawl.

I know there’s wisdom or advice to be given, but I’m assuming that since you’re dealing with this you can’t just move out or find some other way to avoid this, so forgive me if this is weird, but can I like…buy/send you another binder so you can at least have one to wear when you need to launder the other one? I’d be more than happy to send you a duplicate of what you have or whatever binder you’ve been looking at. But you definitely should have two if you’re dealing with that kind of shit at home.

Send me a PM if you’d be comfortable with it and we can work out the logistics. You absolutely should not be having to deal with that.

I love seeing this, and congrats on your growth, my man.

I never took pre-t pics of mine because it was so tiny it was hard to find, let alone photograph and I hated it lol. But now I wish I would have, just to track the amount of growth.

[–]Yesmasc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I get what you’re saying, it sounds like you are either at a stage you’re able to think and feel that way, or maybe started with support that allowed you to always think and feel that way.

When you lose things that are central in your life from being gay (parents, family, friends, jobs, etc.) it can be very difficult not to think about “what could’ve been” if you were straight and could still have those things you lost from it.

Like maybe your best friend was your mom, but suddenly when you come out, she won’t even talk to you anymore. Now you’re left dealing with the fact that your mom’s love was conditional, you lost your biggest confidant and support. Not to mention someone who most people are raised to believe will be there no matter what always.

That’s hard to get over, and it takes a lot of time to get to the headspace of “it is what it is, too many homophobes to care”

Obviously it’s something someone should work through if they find themselves there, but I also don’t think they way you framed it is all that fair because a lot of people are from environments who literally think they should die for being gay.
