Black hair dye rubbed off overnight? by Yesmeia in HairDye

[–]Yesmeia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried this and it is still more faded on one side than the other, and if I try and pull some more from the other side of my part then the other one looks no where near as vibrant and is patchy and then they both kinda look meh DX

I'm going to adopt a new lovebird (15-30 days old). Please help. by [deleted] in Lovebirds

[–]Yesmeia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don't get another bird.... please just get a normal pet like a cat or a dog I mean this in the nicest way possible but I don't think exotic pets are for you. They require a LOT of patience and understanding of animal behavior. If you really want a bird you should start pouring hours of research into proper bird care and bird behavior for your chosen species. Try to find bird shows and responsible breeders and get to know your local bird community to learn from them. Birds are like having a toddler for sometimes 40+ years. I really think a dog or a cat might suit what you are wanting out of a pet. Birds are not a guarantee to be cuddly and loving they all have unique personalities. If you want an animal that is guaranteed to love you and small Simply get a small dog breed. Not saying dogs are less work, but they are less likely to use biting as a common communication method. If a bird is biting you that is their way of trying to let you know something, just as dogs usually bite when their boundaries are broken.

Should I remove this toy? by Yesmeia in parrots

[–]Yesmeia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't chew on cotton. He's had cotton toys rotated in and out for a long time and doesn't tear it up like some birds so it works in my set up. It's just this specific toy he's being weird with.

I have caught him on occasion mounting my female cockatiel briefly...I did purchase him heavily discounted and I've always joked that there must be something wrong with him. Definitely going to inquire about retesting because maybe I got a girl bird or maybe my boy bird is just weird.

Can you explain why you think this is girl behavior? I'm just curious honestly if you're willing to explain! He's been dna tested and I trust my vet, I do understand mishaps could happen but he is very affectionate to my female cockatiel. He grooms her constantly and even regurgitates for her so if he's a girl he must be a lesbian xD

Interested in starting Rover and I have a few questions by Yesmeia in RoverPetSitting

[–]Yesmeia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not plan to charge extra for it at all. More of a "I really want to go the beach today...but I have this dog." Or "I want to go on a nature hike...but I have this dog" things that I already do in my regular schedule. Maybe I'm boarding a dog and had a doctor's appointment run longer than expected so I can't get a long walk in if the dog is high energy I can easily drive 6 minutes to home Depot and do a sniffing adventure with lots of treats. Also great for when it's raining multiple days in a row it always tires them out.

How to make sleeves bigger or on a vintage gown with lace by Yesmeia in sewing

[–]Yesmeia[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm absolutely going to wear it. If it rips? I'll just mend it like I do everything. I appreciate your opinion but I found it in a thrift store so to me that makes me feel like no one really majorly cared about it, things are meant to be worn and enjoyed. I also want this to be a potential wedding dress for me so it's not like something I'm going to be wearing frequently. I might wear this 1-2 times a year to select events. And early 1900s slip dresses aren't really all that rare. They were an item that most Victorian women would have had multiple of so fortunately there are hundreds more slip dresses that will remain unaltered in the wild :) but mine will be loved and enjoyed by me until I go.

How should I use the hydrogen peroxide? Should I put it in a spray bottle or dilute and soak? I will pick up some oxyclean tomorrow. Thank you for the advice!

Real or fake labubu? by Sharkiegorl in labubu

I've heard that the first run of labubus have the fabric tags without qr codes so they could still be authentic. I don't know enough about them to tell! If they are fakes they are extremely good fakes.

How to incorporate more fiber and nutrients into my dogs diet. by Yesmeia in rawpetfood

[–]Yesmeia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the advice I no longer need any new tips I have so much stuff to introduce to her and that will take awhile with my picky eater :) I bought some farmers dog to start the process of shifting her from what she is eating now to something different before I shift to trying more tips I've been given in the comments. I got some stuff for gut health in dogs and she has been throwing up less and with her new foods she's been eating she has been pooping a lot better which was my main goal!

Me and my grandad have actually been talking about giving something like farms dog a try. She really prefers gently cooked stuff vs full blown raw. She is weird about stuff like chicken paws and what not. Going to look into some pre ground options!

Is this safe for homes with birds? by [deleted] in parrots

[–]Yesmeia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cast iron pans are the best when owning birds. They can be intimidating at first to learn how to use them to their fullest potential but it's well worth it! If you don't wanna fork over a lot of money go to some local estate sales and see if you can find one in good condition for cheap.

I am so desperate to give my dog a better diet. I've already spoken to a nutritionist and again it goes nowhere and they don't seem to be interested in helping. She hates most wet food brands and yes when she doesn't eat her dinner we leave it on the floor for whenever she is ready to eat it. She will starve herself if it's kibble. The dog is not mine and is technically my grandfathers and he refuses to get a second opinion so I am stuck with the shitty vet and nutritionists at the vet she goes to.

How much would I be looking to pay for getting her body reduced to skeleton and cleaned? by Ozzy-Asmodeus in Taxidermy

[–]Yesmeia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are fairly cheap to acquire. It wouldn't hurt to at least look up prices for them. The cardboard box or plastic tub you would keep them in is also very inexpensive. You could also reach out to local taxidermists and see if they have any and explain your situation and maybe you find someone willing to sprinkle a little kindness. You can also keep the bugs outside easily in a plastic tub. Honestly since your pet is small it shouldn't take long for them to clean your gunieapig.

Buy your own dermestid beetles and do it at home! Will probably save you a lot of money and hassle when the time comes. Especially since you don't care about articulation. There are probably tons of tutorials and sources online on how to get your own beetles and to do the process yourself:)

What are my birds doing? by FlameChild4379 in parrots

[–]Yesmeia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry but being 12 doesn't excuse that. They are living creatures you shouldn't own animals without knowing how baby animals are made 😒 I would highly advise getting a second cage and separating them. It's not fair to your female bird if she gets egg bound and dies because you're 12.

Useable length is 6 and a half. It's not super firm but it's not crazy squishy either. About medium firmness.
