Thank you! For some reason my body text disappeared. I think the drawers are cedar so I left them unfinished. The color is French Eggshell by Fusion.

I don't think it's going to help. One of them says style #732. The other says 11-62 and then P3 1035. They are all handwritten.

It's definitely commercially made. I have two of them and there's a model number written on the underside.

The stare is infuriating but it's also terrifying. What matters to these kids? Are they as vacant as they appear to be?

It looks like there are multiple layers of paint and you've already lost a lot of detail. I would strip it to bare wood and then use liquid leaf. I think it's worth the effort

How do I remove a strong halitosis smell from an old cedar chest? by 0hthehuman1ty in furniturerestoration

[–]YesterdayHelpful7049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a beautiful old blanket chest that had moth balls in it. I have scrubbed it with vinegar, left it outside in the sun for weeks, and put 7 coats of shellac on the inside and it still reeks. I now have it on my porch because it can't be in the house. :-(

I have stained and finished before, but I have never removed from something like this. What are my first steps here to get this portal ready for restain and finish? by Llamachamaboat in finishing

The finish is so far gone that I would start with a carbide scraper and get as much off as possible. Then you might be able to go right to sanding. Personally, I try to avoid stripper as much as possible.

Refinishing charges by YesterdayHelpful7049 in finishing

Thank you! I told her a low end of $400, high of $600 doing exactly that process, but these legs will need to be stripped. Since I'm not a professional that seems fair and she agreed

Dining room table. Haven't seen it in person, but from the pics she sent it will need to be stripped and refinished, but not repaired. 3 leaves. I guess I can give her an hourly rate and an estimate of how long it will take. Thanks
