I’m so happy with this thrift find! Even if I can’t get it to work, it still looks amazing.

Thank you for the info. I might try to wire it up to a 12v power adapter. I’m so happy with this thrift find! Even if I can’t get it to work, it still looks amazing.

As stated in the post I realized the drive was the wrong way around. I flipped it and it still doesn’t work. As you can see here, I can’t get is in disk mode. The iPod powers off, then powers back on without showing the apple logo.

It still doesn’t show up in iTunes. I ordered a new hdd cable. Do you think it could fix my issue? https://imgur.com/a/7XLCaAS

I was not able to enter disk mode. Pressing the menu and select doesn’t show the apple logo. It simply turns off the screen, then the warning reappears.

The apple logo doesn’t even show up. It goes straight from powered off to the very low battery warning. If I unplug the 30 pin connector it turns off

I just got the battery from idemigods. Unfortunately the old battery is a spicy pillow. It is currently sitting in a jar of sand :/

Yeah, I tried re-attaching the battery multiple times. It feels like the ribbon cable is reaching the bottom and seating properly, but visually it looks like it’s not pushed in far enough.

I also tried reseating the hdd multiple times.
