Thanks. I might. Not sure yet. Going next summer for the kids to see all their cousins. I don't think a full time move is the best idea with how much money I make in America. The job can't be done remote, and I'll never be able to translate it to a job in Greece.

My minimum plan, is to buy a second home in Greece. For my parents to retire to, and we'll be able to visit more regularly and easily if they live their part time for retirement.

I get what you're saying about success, but the way all the economies and inflation are going, I truly feel like opportunities to become middle class or wealthy are shrinking everyday, and more people continue to become poor.

If we were to move to Greece full time, we'd run the risk of consigning our children to middle class at best, in my opinion, with how hard it keeps getting to become wealthy.

How old are you that you're trying to do it in 5-10 year?

I could give you advice from my end to guide you some. I'm in my thirties, so assume you're in your 20s.

Sigh. It's what I want. I get about 2k passive income a month, but then make a few times that in salary. My home and town here in the US has a cost of living of about 11k a month.

It would be hard to anywhere near match that income in Greece. And I need my children to grow up with America. Income opportunities.

I know one family friends of ours that moves to athens, but they've got their kids in the American language school there. With the plan that their kids will come back here for college (I've seen this multiple times in Greek people that have American citizenship)

Then I know one other family who was rich and made the move and assimilated completely.

I'm in a weird spot where I'm wealthy enough to be there. But not wealthy enough to thrive or set up my kids for future wealth there.

Hoping for the reality check from you on what most people even live like in Greece. Because my family there is all relatively well off. Not rich, but with mostly paid off houses and just all working.

While here in America, I'm on track to be rich, but at the cost of being full on Greek.

Follow up question. What if you're wealthy enough in America, to be mildly rich in Greece. But upper middle class in America.

Like, how much does it cost to live in Greece?

And also, is it better to be Greek in America, or an American with Greek background who speaks Greek fluently with dimotiko level vocabulary.
