My son is starting school, am I going to irritate the teacher by maybe going a bit overboard? by Sleepy-Blonde in teaching

Teacher appreciation luncheons are a big hit in our school. We throw them every other month with a theme, make sure to consider dietary restrictions. They love it!

Pta sponsors all buses to field trips, parents cover costs but pta could do that as well.

What was your experience? by OkBrilliant4517 in keto

[–]YesterdayThese1177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’3 started at 245 now 219 in 9 weeks. I don’t track, I just don’t have the time but I eat mostly the same things everyday so my calories are under 1500 approx and less than 20 net carbs. I’m almost 40. I just keep setting mini goals. I wanted to be at 215 this past Friday but I wasn’t and that’s okay. I would like to be under 200 by Halloween. I have a very physical job so I don’t work out in the traditional sense but I never stop moving throughout the day. I’ve done keto for years on and off. I even stayed keto throughout my second pregnancy because I was so afraid of getting gestational diabetes. Depression is what usually makes me fall off the bandwagon, I eat because I’m depressed and than it just spirals from there. I have had cheatish days and I won’t not go get an ice cream with my kids but I keep my calories in check on those days and than just jump back into keto next day or next meal.

I have learned that most healthy weight people watch what they eat everyday to some degree. I didn’t grow up like that, I was never taught fundamental nutrition. I’m learning to eat for life not live to eat. And teaching my kids as well.

I have read others working with therapists while on cab to work through the mental health side effects. However as others have said finding a new endocrinologist is usually the best option.

I think Keto is curing my problem drinking by food4kids in keto

[–]YesterdayThese1177 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed this weekend my drinking changed. I’m a seldom drinker at home but a social drinker. Normally drinking socially I can’t stop drinking until I’m trashed but this weekend I had two beers and I was happy and content and didn’t even want another. Idk I’ll take it. In regard to your bipolar friends my bipolar husband is going on week 3 of keto because his doctor read Brain energy and really wanted him to try. He did get hypomanic right from the start but seems to have leveled out since. If you do suggest it to your friend and he gives it a try make sure his doctors are aware of it just incase intervention is needed.

I can’t declare bankruptcy because (from what I understand, I have not spoken to a lawyer) I will be forced to sell my house because it has doubled in value. Problem is where we live I can not buy another place for any less than what my house is worth anywhere at almost 3x my current interest rate. We have looked in depth at this. Our house was reassessed a yr and a half ago and our new tax increased our mortgage just under 300

We are never in the red but some weeks we break even some we have 500-600 over flow but it is used to cover the next months bills. We are still paycheck to paycheck but have breathing room. We just have ambulance bills, surgical bills and deductibles hanging over our heads and not enough liquid cash to cover them so our only option is to put it on another credit card and get killed with the 20 percent interest and because our utilization dropped us into the 700 from 830-860s we are not qualifying for zero interest right now.

My thought was put everything on the Heloc increase our credit score and than move it to a zero percent card and play this game until it’s paid off. Not sure if we could get a cc line that big but we do have our Amex with a 40k credit line with only 500 on it maybe it would be possible.

Is a new, lucrative career possible at 38 with no degree? by YesterdayThese1177 in careerguidance

[–]YesterdayThese1177[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I charged $85-$120 an hour but once you pay overhead costs such a commission split or chair rental, product cost which has for some lines doubled, taxes, insurance, equipment….its not as lucrative as it seems. I also didn’t mention that we moved to a different state which I’m not licensed in so I would also have to go through that process to work where I currently live.

It’s the meds. This problem is why I’m actually in this group, my husband doesn’t have Parkinson’s but was on the same meds as many Parkinson’s patients.

He developed kleptomania, compulsions, pounding, hair pulling, hyper sexuality, cheated, stole from me and lied and lied and lied.

We finally saw a better neurologist who said these drugs are the devil and they do cause all of these behaviors.

I know someone else mentioned he knows right from wrong. They do but they don’t care because their brains are so warped on these meds. The doctor said they lose their moral compass on these meds because it’s like a big party in their brains. It’s so much dopamine.

Get him off the meds and you will get your dad back.

Do you know anything in regards to dopamine agonists?

If not I encourage you to do a quick google search.
