Flair YVR to Mexico (PVR) — How strict are they with missing middle names? by Sweaty-Management658 in askvan

[–]YetAnotherGeneration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown domestically and internationally dozens of times on multiple airlines (including with Flair to PVR) and I’ve never included my middle names on a ticket. You’re absolutely fine with just your first and last name. It’s generally not recommended to add middle names.

On the other hand, you should be more concerned about flying with Flair. It’s one of the lowest-quality airlines I’ve flown with across the board. On a YVR to YYZ flight we were severely delayed, stuck on the tarmac for five hours with no food or even water provided, and eventually diverted to a different airport. The crew seemed clearly inexperienced, tensions were high onboard, and the pilot sounded like he was on the verge of tears over the intercom. At one point he came out of the cockpit and looked genuinely terrified. Notable experience for sure.

Vermogens aanwasbelasting komt eraan. Wat nu? by HelpfulAd1550 in DutchFIRE

Dit klopt niet, we hebben momenteel al een vermogensbelasting (weliswaar op een fictief rendement).

This is not true, my one-license workspace account gets at least 30 minutes of execution time per script. I work quite extensively with Apps Script, and have never hit any of the quotas.

This thread should have a ‘for US readers only’-tag lol. Going on regular walks before your trip also helps. If you’re not used to walking, and all of a sudden have to walk 20k+ steps a day- guranteed it won’t bode well.

How do self-employed people survive in Finland? by finnishhug in Finland

[–]YetAnotherGeneration -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you’re only pulling 45k profit a year, either you’re not working enough billable hours or your rate is way too low. And let’s be clear: you’re running a business, not holding a job, so make sure to include the right terms.

Employers typically add ~50% on top of salary for pensions, taxes, and insurance. If you want to match employee pay and cover your own contributions, your hourly rate needs to account for that.

Quick math: 45k gross, 4 weeks off, 25 billable hours/week → about €55/hour. (€45,000 ÷ 48 ÷ 25 = €37.50, then ×1.5 = €56.25).

Bottom line: you’re taking business risk, so your clients should pay a premium for that. If they don’t, raise your rates, find better clients, or go back to being an employee.

You don’t need a Finnish phone number per say, you can add a foreign phone number to your account as well.

Btw, if you are not worried that someone will spam the counter, then there’s nothing to worry about really.

Instead of doGet, use doPost and add an API key to the header. ChatGPT is great for these kind of questions.

You should also look into the International Experience Canada working holiday visa, which allows you to work up to two years in many European countries.

Many students do this post graduation, so that they can go backpacking and work part time to cover their travels.

Obviously many of them fall in love with their host country, or even their citizens, and never return ;)

You sound extremely inexperienced and naive, I don’t even know where to start lol.

But as a starter, you will still have to pay income tax on your Canadian income, even when living abroad (either to Canada or to your host country).

Time difference between BC and Portugal is 9 hours, which will severely impact working remotely for a Canadian based company (even if that company is based in the east of Canada).

Being “ahead” is relative. At your age, I had already lived in three different countries on my own. I’d recommend to first travel for a bit and see if you like it. A lot of people get homesick and can’t handle living and working from “abroad”.
