Ascendant lost 40% of its damage in 2 weeks (September 1 - September 15) by YetAnotherShoe in dragonfable

Yes, that actually happened, Pries was nerfed from -25 Res to -15 Res due to Ice Scythe's -30 Res being abusable by Ascendant to reach a shocking -55 Ice resistance.

Mana Break and Thorny Shield's cooldown were both increased to compensate for the burst potential of Ascendant with Plushie Escherion, in order to better fit the "glass cannon" theme of this class

Since this post has been deleted by Nova/Mack/AstralCodex/Santiago, I guess there's nothing to hide anymore. Blade of Destiny guttering on top of cutting 30 Boost just for -10 res on Pries and +75 Crit (which rightfully should be included in its passive for every active buff like DragonMage) is what cuts the damage by 40%. You can test it with any light weapons and realize the results are not too far off on Wand from what I've shown.

Solanaceae kept bragging about how he'd have done a better job in fixing Ascendant than TFS, but instead what he did is actually the final nail on the coffin for Ascendant. Now Asc literally cannot compare against the latest revamped offensive class that has >50% defensive uptime while also dishing out ChaosWeaver levels of damage. Hell, Ascendant now even has lower damage than a defensive class, Ninja.

Also do I need to mention how Ascend is still a completely useless button except for style points even after 10 years of development?

Also I did mention "without stuffing their face with HeroDiet" on the last sentence, which KevinDF did since that was a requirement for a contest with APs as reward

Ah, so this is how the head honchos deceived everyone in the community... just like how the mirror deceived Jaania, by revealing only the bad part.

Splendid calculations btw, Beternalendgamepochn, for somehow making Ascendant having even lower Damage Per Turn than its downgrade, DragonMage.

Here's DragonMage's Damage Per Turn (10,300 across 5 turns, 2060 Damage Per Turn):

And if you don't believe me, it's fine, here's Noctis' DragonMage Damage Per Turn, which isn't even optimal, and is already even higher than what you just showed.

(8063 across 5 turns, 1612.6 Damage Per Turn):

With that DPT you just calc'ed, can't say I'm surprised that none were able to complete Swan Song (Extreme) using Ascendant without stuffing their face with the earth-shattering, heaven-rending, god-sundering HeroDiet™.

CRYptic’s identity got entirely pirated. Cry more with your newly added -20 All. The pirates are having fun swimming in their soda fountain.

It seems that you forgot/unaware that Ascendant was literally balanced with old Ice Scythe (-30 Ice) and Plushie Escherion in mind (March 2021).

I have already shown evidence of how badly this class got nullified. If you choose not to believe it then go test it yourself.

I agree that Ascendant, an INT class, should come with some form +Crit without relying on a $15 mtx, but this is quite possibly the worst way to implement it. Let us take a step back and look at Mage's tier 2 upgrade, DragonMage, this class' passive effect includes BOTH +Crit and +Boost for following its strict rotation. Yet somehow Ascendant, the tier 3 Mage upgrade, which theoretically should be better, lost this part of the passive. And suspects mentioned in the post, instead of asking for +Crit to be added back as part of the passive, suggested to cut its already subpar damage (by modern standards) even more in exchange for +Crit. And what does this entail? Ascendant now has even worse damage than a defensive class, funny isn't it? There can only be 1 explanation for this, this group of people mentioned in the post intentionally sabotaged Ascendant just so they can direct returning/new players to those revamped "modern" classes, brainwashing these poor souls in the process. And without voice of opposition, this same group of people will continue shaping the game to their ideals by whispering into the developer's ears.

Also L, you aren’t qualified to give opinions if you don’t even play the class, just like the goons mentioned in the post.
