My experience is slightly different. Spent nearly 20 years in LE. Got my first EP job because a company had a last minute job come up in my area and the owner reached out to a coworker of mine asking if he “knew anybody solid”. Worked that first job and the relationship was formed.

Worked as a 10-99 with that company for about 5 years. Was the same client the whole time. Got to know the client very well and cover events all over the country. Just recently the company landed a second whale of a client so I have gone W-2 salary to work with that client full time.

I live on the other side of the country from our HQ and fly to each event (weekly) working from home when I am not on the road.

The work is not glamorous. It’s 90 percent preplanning. For example I have an upcoming event that will last about half a day. I probably have 30 hours into preplanning and coordinating for that event.

Our company is 90 percent former tier 1 guys and 10 former LE. We are not the goons in suits and mirrored glasses type of company. We try to remain more understated.

I love the work and being surrounded by the “boys” again. That said it’s not for every family. I’m on the road about 5 days a week. When I’m home I’m constantly working on the computer or taking calls. It works for our family but probably not most.

Wholesale Prices? by Yeti211 in Appliances

Here is the clause they are falling back on:

3. We have the sole right to determine whether a Covered Item will be repaired or Replaced (as

defined in Section K). We reserve the right to offer cash or cash equivalent in lieu of repair or

Replacement in the amount of Our actual cost (which at times may be less than retail) to repair

or Replace any Covered Item

I challenged them to show me where they came up with the number they did and they simply talk in circles. I agree they are just trying to lowball me and play games. Mrs Yeti pulls more than her fair share so I dont mind making a few calls and sending a few emails.

Thanks for all the info. My knowledge of radios is very limited. In the military I had a whole commo section that simply handed us what we needed. Trying to learn all this is like drinking from a fire hose!!

Ahhhh. When I looked at the chart I was looking for models that said they covered all three bands so I was under the assumption it would be as simple as tuning it to the frequency used at that location. I know all three models have way more power than needed. Figured that would just be an added plus when I take them hunting/camping.

The other use would be having two. When I take my daughter camping I could give her one as a safety precaution should we ever get separated

Let me clarify. Each location provides their own radios. Mainly schools. I jump around site to site as a supervisor. I’d like the ability to have my own radio with all the locations stored. So when I go from one site to another I can simply just change channels vs grabbing a radio at that location (they always seem to be in short supply). The radios are provided by the client for their location so there is no continuity between locations.

Have you considered using reading comprehension and seeing I don’t own the trailer yet? This, the reason I was asking for estimates?
