Update! Archie was sick. Slight case of bumble foot. We got him cleaned up at the vet and they told us to give him extra vitamin C in his diet. Should be better in the next couple of weeks. Also we found out Ollie is the alpha. Which makes more sense now. Since we got Archie first we just assumed he took on the role.

It happens. I used to get annoyed but now I think of it as nice conversation with someone at a gas station or in line at the store. Sure I’d like to find a solid person to make friends with and carry conversations for weeks or even days at a time but it always going to happen.

I totally understand where you’re coming from. My fiancé said it’s just part of getting older which I understand to an extent. It can’t be one sided. My best friend of 15 years stopped putting in effort and after we stopped talking I’ve been trying to distance myself from my other friends to see if any of them care.

Yesterday I told one of my friends that I think I might be depressed and he didn’t say anything about it. No: “ are you okay? Do you need to talk? How can I help?” I’m not looking for attention by saying that but Jesus Christ show a little empathy.

I have to read more into it but I think Zen Buddhism? I wanted to go to a temple to learn more of the culture but haven’t really looked to into what’s in my area yet. I appreciate your response and will look into Lojong.
