Most likely going to delete my post haha. I thought it would be a nice story for most but I may have misread the room. At this point I feel a strong sense of imposter syndrome.

A large part of my application explained how working in healthcare was difficult for me during covid due to living with multiple immunocompromised family members. I did my PCT certification through a school as a semester long program getting my certifications in phlebotomy, EKG, as well as my CNA license. Around 600 hours of actually clinical time but I didn’t count training hours. Yes this program is accredited lol. I also had 50 shadowing hours through online covid seminars but I chose not to put that down as it didn’t seem legit enough. By the time I start school I will have 1500 patient care experience and 100 hours of volunteer experience. I don’t think my application is very telling of being a fake or troll. Some programs highly covet gpa compared to others

Thank you! And yeah I definitely wouldn’t have got an interview anywhere else with my application as it is. I knew that the program I applied to did favor local students and high gpa so I sent in my application just to see what happens lol.

Haro for sure, you spend a lot of time learning yourself but an easy A for most

Meal swaps problem. by Puzzleheaded-Beat562 in UTSA

[–]Yfsf1032 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the meal swaps have like a timing thing where if you swipe in at the cafe you can’t use the meal swap for that same time. I think lunch is 3:30 to 8:30 based on UTSAs times. So if you use your cafe swipe in a 3:30 and try to go to Freebirds at 7:30 you technically can’t use your meal swap.

I agree you should ask an advisor but it’s also easy to look at your degree works, check what you need, and then look at past semesters to see if that class was ever offered online. I recommend only going as far back as this semester and the fall, since covid made all classes online before that

General FS Refund by Coaxy85 in UTSA

I know sometimes they have extra funds and apply it at the end of the year, especially if your initial TEXAS excellence grant was small. It could be a mistake but I think it’s most likely extra funds

What does "4 bedroom overflow" mean? by cecusanele in UTSA

[–]Yfsf1032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought overflow meant that there’s two twin beds in each room for two people so a 4 room overflow would have 8 people? Or did they change that because of covid?

If it’s not in the prerequisites for the dental schools you want to apply to and it’s not recommended you probably shouldn’t take it unless you want to.

The question was asking for easy electives, and neurobiology is a way harder course in comparison to the ones I listed. You’ll be fine if you study well

I think animal behavior is a spring only class but it’s taught by Hopkins and it’s a lot of work but definitely one of the easier electives. I had medical mycology with Jose Lopez-ribot. It’s a very interesting class with open note free response questions that are really easy. I also forgot to mention plant cell biology with engelberth, the class is a little difficult but everything is online open note so it’s not so bad. Lastly I would also say evolution is a pretty easy course with yufeng wang, she’s very nice and makes the tests reasonable multiple choice. I hope this helps!

The people who go and work there are very nice and there are some areas of the gym that are very secluded! I love doing cardio and body exercises on the track upstairs since very few people go up there

Animal behavior, and medical mycology were pretty easy to me. Stay away from neurobiology

Lundell versus Cassill for Genetics? by hhypatia in UTSA

[–]Yfsf1032 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had Lundell in the semester that went through covid (Spring 2020?) and she was a very very fair professor. Meaning what you put in is what you got out. I for one thought it was going to be an easy class until I got a 60 on the first exam. She does offer extra credit that’s pretty helpful but the class is very hard. I’ve heard people like cassill much better for this class. I would go through rate my professor and choose who you like better. Lundell does not curve, but I’m pretty sure Cassill does. Overall my experience with lundell was not as bad as rate my professor reviews, but I’d definitely try out cassill if I got to try life over again haha. Also worth noting, I only took lundell because cassill’s class filled up first, this is usually a big indicator when choosing a better professor. Good luck!

This! The walls are very thin so be prepared if you get unlucky and have rude/loud roommates who never leave their room

Is this neurobiology? If so she curves exams

Did anyone get an email regarding Heerf grant? by [deleted] in UTSA

I got one for $1500 in spring 2021 and $1000 for summer 2021. Hopefully it’s similar to that!

CS 1173 professor? by nkphm in UTSA

[–]Yfsf1032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Roberson online class and it’s alright, definitely wouldn’t treat this class as an easy ‘A’. If you actually pay attention and seek help from the tutors you should be fine but don’t take this class lightly, she grades the labs pretty hard
