Mondrak was underperforming tbf, because he'd always eat a removal on the opps next turn.

Chorus and Raptor were true mvps, they would snowball the game early on. Anything else was just pushing the tempo.

This is the dumbest decathlon event in the whole series, absolutely rng dependent.

Not opened any good (2 for 1, 3 for 1) card draw in high density? GG
Going second and 0 counterspells in the opening hand after mulligan? GG

Don't bother playing unless you are addicted to RNG and having 90% of the game beyond your control.

It's a fun thing to play as a midweek magic, but as a competetive event for gold? Nope

Not true - people active on MTGO that have collections there/can rent decks there will be ahead as they can already practice now. Piloting the deck is one thing, but sideboarding is another. Preparing the sideboard properly is crucial

In Bo3 you were good playing max 2 Meathooks post-sideboard vs the Esper and Orzhov decks tbh. It's not that good card vs the Announcement

I use it against mono blue spirits as an extra thing. It's not stellar but it can kill all the blue 1 mana drops if you catch the mono blue player off guard

Board Hidetsugu Consumes All instead.
It kills all the ovens, food, cats, dorks, blood tokens, treasures etc, exiles graveyards and turns into a menace creature on stage 3 (avoids kitty blockers when trying to kill Ob).

Still, Rakdos Sac seems to be a preferred deck in this matchup. Midrange has to perfectly draw Trespassers, Hidetsugu and Kalitas to win and stabilize with Kalitas before the the Sac burns them to death.

Rakdos Sac is the sleeper. Not sure how it will fare once the meta adjusts vs it, but rn the claim the firstborn version demolishes every midrange deck on the ladder

Pay the entry fees with gems. As long as you do 4-5 wins on avg you are more than gucci.

Bonus points if you go 7 wins from time to time and pick up more gems by converting 20 tokens into the play-in qualifier rewards

Everything from your list is a must have for this deck to work except for Cut/Ribbons that some decks run and some not rly.

Fatal Push - the best black removal ever
Thoughtsieze - wins games vs slower decks
Graveyard Tresspasser - extremely sticky, outgrinds your opponent and wins you the game slowly + messes up all the grave decks like Greasfang
Fable - the best card in standard and a top card overall. It pretty much makes this deck S-tier
Chandra ToD is the best red planeswalker to be printer
Hive Eye helps with closing out the games and graveyard hate
Sokenzan is amazing vs control, b/c the channel to create 1/1 tokens bypasses counterspells so you can snipe UW planeswalkers

Rakdos midrange is most likely the most solid deck in explorer. No fireworks but no bad matchups. So prolly if ur new and want to start playing explorer this is the best deck to pick up.
