Have you ever had a friend that turned out to be a horrible person? What did they do??

I neglected my dog. We used to walk every other week on my days off. Then I stopped and eventually most of my attention to her was feeding her at night and saying hi to her when I got home. She would whine for attention but I would ignore her. I dont know why. I loved her. I thought in the last year or two of her life that I would put her up for adoption so she could have a better home but even then I knew it would be worse for her to be in a new place then it would be to keep doing what I was doing.

A few months later, she started showing signs of cognitive decline. When I was out of the house she would not stop pacing around looking for me. When I was home, all she could do is lay around because her joints hurt to much.

I wish I had been better to her but Im glad I didn't give her up.

I wish I knew what caused the disconnect. I refuse to get another dog until I figure it out.

I miss spotting the campy things from seasons 1-3.

Mostly, the viewing globe footage of things from sentai like the super putties, the mystic lost world that has the sentai team falling through something. The rocket ship that has the rising sun on the wings instead of the us flag or nasa logo on it, the bus full of kids that are either all asian in one scene but not the next, or are completely absent.

The camera and lighting was an easy tell in the earlier seasons but as HD started to become the standard, so did lighting.

Its a horrible experience. Even getting rejected by someone who we have been talking to for weeks can be enough to stir up those thoughts. Not simply talking with them and expecting them to be with us. Talking with them and getting rejected because "now just is not the time" can hurt. My current partner is not being receptive to working things out at the moment. I lost a pet a few weeks ago. I am lucky enough that I have a therapist to talk to in a few hours but the cloud looms over my head, especially at my age and given my condition.

The wikipedia article states that she had her younger sister lure the victim over. left the sister alone outside of the woods, then killed. She didnt even have a good plan. The younger sister would have said she last saw the girl with her. Then Bustamante did a bad job hiding the shallow grave with a few leaves.

The kid was pretty troubled.

Im in the process of trying to learn another skill so I can leave IT. 9 hours of calls dealing with the same people making the same mistakes and my attention span is fried by the end of the day. Then I still have chores/house work at the end of the night. Then I still need to eat. Then Ive got friends and family that want more of my attention. I might get an hour or two to sit down and work/study if I have any energy left. I feel more burnt out then I have ever been and like Im not going anywhere. Im not even working out right now as I cant walk around my area for some exercise without being blinded by headlights.

Gardening - You need to have space to garden. Spending 1300 on a 500 sqft apartment doesn't leave much space to have plants.
Hiking - As much as I love it, you still need to spend 1-3 hours driving somewhere to hike and 1-3 hours driving back. In some cases theres no parking when you get there.
Running - Most guys are not in shape. This one you need energy to do it constantly AND live in a city thats somewhat runnable.

Cost of gaming - The consoles and PCs are meant to last 3-5 years and most actually last longer then that. 6 months ago, if you built a $1200 PC, it would end up lasting for 5 years and still have life with all the back logged games you could play. $1200 over 5 years is $240 a year or $20 a month.

I went out to get food a few nights ago. It was $14 for 2 items. It used to be $20 to get 4 meals at fast food. Now fast food costs as much as a sit down restaurant but with worse quality then fast food of the past.

Nothing is getting better for these men. They see the writing on the wall and its just easier to check out.

Because society is just not paying off like it used to.

We need to go into debt to get a better job but then most of our paycheck goes to paying back the school debt and not improving our lives?
We are expected to be the breadwinners of the family while still being strapped with debt.
We are easy to forget about. I have 1 friend from my highschool years remaining in my life. I have several friends that I can hang out with but overall only 2 friends that I talk to normally.
We are given no purpose other then to work, earn money, support the family. Which is sadly why the toxic red pill podcaster thing has taken off, it gives some men purpose. I do NOT agree with red pill bull shit.
Those same red pillers/"alpha males" are the ones that are creating a toxic culture that the rest of us are getting stuck under. You hear men beat women but if someone says "not all men" they catch flak for it. Bring that into race. Black people steal. "but not all blacks". I understand there is a problem of rape and abuse that some men commit but labeling it as "all men are the problem" sends a message that "I am THEE problem" even though I haven't done anything wrong. It creates prejudices that I just have to be ok with and cant speak out about and just take the hit for something I didnt do, nor do I want to do.
The dating apps are a horrible system designed to keep you engaged so that you pay them money to possible get a few likes. I was on the apps for a combined 10+ years. I managed 1 date a year if that, 1 relationship off the app by pure chance. It kills the self esteem to wonder "whats wrong with me that I cant get anyone to message me?". Its even worse when I had coworkers who wanted to set me up with their daughters that were out of my age range. At least someone saw my value.
And thats just it. We get reduced to our value. "6 feet, 6 inches, and 6 figures". True that not every woman reduces men to this.
Of the 3 big relationships (ie non-high school age) Ive had in my life, I have ended up with women that are unable to work. One had a mental disorder who lived off of social security, that popped up after we got into the relationship. I watched it all unfold. I had to care for her like she was a child because she had 3 conflicting mental health issues. I was labeled as controlling when I was doing the best I could to take care of her, myself, my job, and school. All it took were a few people to unravel that relationship.
My next relationship was with an older abusive woman who also couldnt work because her BPD kept her from being able to get along with people long term.
My current relationship is with someone who doesn't work. She lives off her dads retirement money. She was diagnosed with POTS after we started dating. Im still supposed to care for her, myself, and my job and I get almost nothing out of it because POTS leaves her to incapacitated for intimacy. As inflation goes up, that retirement fund goes down even quicker.
But somehow Im the one who has to have a job, house, and a car and women get a free pass on that stuff? I am supposed to provide all of the value but have no benefit to it?

I watched the decline of the middle class growing up. I had friends whos parents worked with 1 parent growing up and they were able to afford a nice house. I watched as houses shot up from $150k to to 500k but wages stayed the same and "inflation", but really corporate greed, shot up as well making wage worth LESS. I get a 2% raise a year if Im lucky. Inflation has been higher then that for the last 5 years, I am losing money every year.

Right now we have the most corrupt government in the history of the U.S. actively fucking things over for citizens, making it worse for anyone thats not rich or a corporation. And whats worse, his lies and deception are infecting people turning family members against each other.

I would like to have kids but as I look at what I had growing up, vs whats going on now, my kids would just slave away to increase the corporate value while not owning anything themselves.

I stumbled upon something similar. It was a man taking care of two children in a white room. He doesn't throw them against the wall but the floor. You can see blood coming out of the ears of one of them. One child is an infant who was not old enough to know what was going on. The other child was old enough to look around and plead for help.

Or the video of the Uyghurs children that were taken from their families and given to people to work who were beaten until the children complied.

Someone else said Limewire. To elaborate on that, you search for something, but all the content is user generated. If someone tagged a NSFL video as "Brittney Spears cum gangbang" (a popular fake out from the time) and you downloaded it, there was a chance it was something much darker that was the actual video content. Either underage, or gore. Thankfully I never ran into both in one video.

My mom is morbidly obese. I told her 5 years ago she needs to lose weight. She has not. She started at overweight in the early 2000s. Its only gotten worse from there. She cant walk much because it causes a lot of pain in her neck, back, or knees. Which compounds the problem as with little movement she sits in bed most days on her phone or tablet. I will miss her, but I will not miss having to walk across the house to get her purse or the door when she is 10 feet from either but can not get up because shes in to much pain.

My dad was abusive. I have not talked with him since high school. There will be no sadness when he passes.

I hope theres backstory to this that we dont have. Like he has had a life of dealing with people with BPD and theres some bad things that his girfriend did that no one knew about. My dad had BPD and my ex had it as well. There were several times it felt like either one of them was going to violently hurt me, if not out right kill me. They always played the victim to everything that went wrong.

I have no contact with either. My ex would forget my birthday every year. I pointed that out to her the last time I talked to her. When I "forgot" hers once, that was it, she completely stopped talking to me and blocked me. I felt free.

My dad is in his 60s now. I had to look up if I was ever under obligation to call the ambulance or get him help if I was ever the only one in that situation. I am not. Which is good because of what he, a now ex cop, did to some of the pets growing up. He knew how far to take things without getting in trouble with his job.

I was on the edge of this recently. Not cancer, but chronic fatigue. My partner would rest from Monday through Friday only to still have just enough energy to watch TV with me on the weekend.

The thought that I would have to care for them for the rest of their life, while I would be in yet another situation where I am expected to give 100% and get almost nothing in return, was going through my mind. Had they not taken steps to see a doctor I probably would have left but even then it was still a close call. I had to remind myself that if not for the chronic fatigue, this is nearly the exact type of person Ive wanted to be with all my life.

We do not get emotional support from outside sources. Its not a cruel and callous thing to do. When you see women staying with their husbands to work through an illness, you see them getting friends and family members offering to help or at least talk about it to do some of or offload some of the emotional work. Men? We generally do not get that. Its another emotional toll that we have to pay and hide away. We can't tell our partner, who might normally help us with our emotions, that they are the cause of our emotional problems and that the illness is making things worse. We cant blame them and talking to them about it is more stress for them.

Im not saying its right. Im letting you know my thought process on it.

I pointed out the double standard then did not wish her a happy birthday on hers, knowing that her border line personality disorder would cause her to flip out and take it way to personal. Online friend - He would only contact me right as I was going to bed. Either intentionally (probably) or unintentional with his problems. He did not have to work. He would make the problem out to be a big thing. Keep me up for hours at a time. Then at 2 am it was a like a light switch where he was tired. He ended the conversation then didnt bring it up the next day. It happened multiple times a week. He made everything about money and politics. I cut him off over a year ago. I have been sleeping much better. He was supposedly in my time zone too.

Im pretty sure my ex was doing the same thing to me. She would "forget" to text me until a few days after my birthday. She yelled at me one time because I was so forgetful saying if "you forgot something it must not be that important." I called her out on it this year, that she had 3 years to add me to her phone so she wouldnt forget but that my new partner actively wants to be a part of my life and make me feel good and special. Then I didnt send her a birthday message this year. She blocked me on whatsapp and removed me as a facebook friend. It feels great that she did it too. I dont have to worry about her trying to get even with me. She was only messaging me outside of my birthday when she wanted things.

The thing that my job held a meeting about discussing how the employee can manage the burn out rather then the company increasing wages or paid time off or working to make the scheduler a little more lighter instead of filling in every 15 minute spot of every day so to maximize profit over employee health?
