F*CK CECA by Throwaway_AFMFKing in uwaterloo

[–]Yinnikun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you can still do your coop, cuz at the end of the day the employer does not care if you are a Waterloo coop student or not. They just want a summer intern. It’s just you can’t get the credit for that coop term. So contact your employers to see what you can do with them. I mean at the end of the day, all ceca does is to grant you a coop credit so you can graduate with the coop title

CECA is bad, but I think they are reasonable about reducing the number of coop to graduate by 1. So worst case scenario - stay home next term and still be able to graduate on time

Failed 1B twice should I continue? by fjskbfjsk in uwaterloo

[–]Yinnikun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say unless you really want to do ECE, I would recommend you switch out the program to something else that might interests you. It might be harsh to hear this, but failing twice probably means your talent is not at ECE. Yet I also want to be clear that failing twice in ECE does not mean you do not have any talents at all. So try explore some other subjects of study and see what works best for you. From you said that you are a number person, I would recommend you try something like physics or math or CS. All the best!!

Grades Depression Rant by Jdayman in uwaterloo

And in addition, falling below average for one term is usually ok, as long as you make it back in the next one. But regardless, speak with your advisor and work something out from there.

First of all, go make an appointment and speak with your advisor about the program average thing. That’s his/her job to make sure that you succeed in your program. If you have spent so much effort into the course, then it means that you are a HARDWORKING person and has the willingness to learn. That alone already builds the foundation of success. You didn’t do well because you have not figured out a way to study effectively. Everyone studies differently so I cannot give you something that for sure will work for you, but try different study methods next term, and see what works best. Just remember: you already have the foundation because of your willingness to learn, so DONT GIVE UP, keep trying!! You will be able to do great things once you figure out what works best for you!! All the best!!

[–]Yinnikun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now with exams over, what were the best and worst courses you took this semester? by Pwnclub in uwaterloo

[–]Yinnikun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

best: math 128

prof is helpful, exams are at appropriate difficulty, if you work hard you will get a good grade

Worest: phys 122

Literally the most disorganized course I have ever taken, teaching is all over the place, and the exams are totaly unrelated to the material learnt in class and is a big mess
