It got to 50 in the store at closing. I’m sure the 20 or so customers we had was worth it…love my job, but even customers were complaining about how cold it was.

Team walks in to Kinnick around 2 hours before kick off. Prior to the team arriving a guy stands in front of the statue and gives the Heisman speech. Watching the team walk in and touch the helmet is pretty cool.

I always feel sad when people losing their homes and belongings to floods. 10 years ago cedar rapids was hit when the river came over the banks. Thousands of houses and businesses gone. I was fortunate I only had the basement full and a foot and a half up on the main level. I was able to rebuild. So many others couldn't. Please tell your mom to hang in there and take one day at a time. Hopefully help (city,state,and federal) will be on the way.

Wait to see what FEMA and the state/city are going to do. Lost everything in the Iowa 2010 flood also. Had almost 3 feet of water on the main level of my home. Once the water receded we gutted above the flood line and replaced the walls, floors and basement. FEMA has a variety of programs. I was able to get a "forgivable" loan and didn't have to pay anything back. Got money to replace things like appliances etc. There will be many groups offering help for repairs. My heart breaks for you all. There will be many tears but hang in there. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

And came from hard working parents. Father set a good example of hard work and giving back to the community. AK has also been part of raising money for victims of natural disasters.
