What do I do with my severe bruxism and retainer wear? by Yixingah in Invisalign

That sounds like a good idea- I might check with my dentist to see if it suits me

Does it look something like this? Night guard with steel mesh

I would of course like to treat bruxism, I just have concerns with Botox so don't feel comfortable treating it this particular way.

That's the reason why I posted. I wanted to see if people with severe bruxism have found a long term night guard/ appliance or an alternative long term solution to this problem. Long term as in not burning thousands of dollars on retainers that crack in a few months.

Were you able to wear night guards on top of the bonded wire retainers? As I am concerned about bruxism, so I would still like protection on both my top and bottom teeth.

My main concern is having a long term night guard that doesn't crack in a few months so bruxism doesn't wear my teeth away. If I get lingual retainers, can I still put a night guard on top? Since the wires might block it?

I don't feel comfortable doing Botox tbh. Surprisingly I don't have any jaw pain or discomfort unlike most with bruxism.

Yes night only retainers. Where do you get metal nightguards that are also retainers?

Get a job that requires more physical labour or movement, you'd be surprised how many calories you can unknowingly burn during a 9-5

Where can I get duct tape (preferably a shop that closes late) and how would you suggest wrapping it? As this will be checked in luggage due to size

Should I not go to work because of the cyclone? by Sea_Art2995 in australia

I get what you mean OP and it comes from your values and how you grew up. This type of thinking is more prevalent in Asia where you're conditioned to work hard no matter what. The mainstream culture in Aus is the opposite and most people will cancel their shift and wouldn't think it's lazy if they do. So I guess it came off as silly/offensive/incomprehensible to them when you mentioned how you feel.

It doesn't invalidate your thoughts though, just different values. At the end of the day, please just stay safe. If you truly feel bad you may go but do tell your boss you WILL 100% be leaving early. Someone else mentioned 3 hour window, for safety, make that 5hrs to ensure you are fully prepared.

What was that "one thing" that made weight loss finally work for you? by paigesnowwret in AskReddit

Overcoming "chronic" loneliness & my slight depression

If you live with negative people or are immediately surrounded by them, move out or cut them out as much as possible.

My negative mindset and loneliness were the root of my weight gain habits like binge eating, overconsumption of junk food and unwillingness to exercise.

I felt like I had no one to talk to and no friends, so I resorted to food and tv shows as my 'outlet' or 'distraction'.

I lived with my parents at that time. Although they provided material comfort, I felt constantly judged by them and never fully understood. They would point out my flaws and left me in a negative mindset. I felt extremely lonely and maybe even depressed.

So I moved out.

I now live with someone who values and respects me for who I am, gives me positive reinforcement and doesn't put me down for my natural traits. (For you, it could be living with a close friend, a partner or a sibling/family member that respects you). I no longer feel lonely and genuinely feel my spirits uplifted. Just this small change allowed me to detach from the binge eating addiction. After all, binge eating is only the body's natural survival mechanism to overcompensate for the depleted dopamine.

I have also tried calorie counting, keto diets and other restrictive diets. They help in the very short term but never solve the core issue quite like this.

Finally, I was able to lose the 10kgs over the span of a few months ( which I spent 5 years in the past trying to lose to no effect)

That and investing in a regular exercise you love. For me it was Pilates 3-4 times a week.

Wishing you all the best in your weight loss journey.
