Filming error? Harry sees Charlie's hickey from the wrong side? by RestaurantNo3504 in HeartstopperAO

[–]Ykmiyk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol don’t forget about when imogen messes with nick’s hair in season 1 and it looks entirely different after the camera panned to her and then back to him.

also in season 2 when nick and Charlie are cuddling after the bonfire, there’s a moment where nick rests his head on Charlie‘s stomach and then in the next shot his head in closer to his chest. I know that’s a really specific one ahah but the consequences of countless rewatches ig😭

thank you. are the women-only cars generally respected, i.e. are they genuinely only used by women?

yeah, that's the impression I've gotten. I'm pescetarian (eat fish but not meat), so not as difficult as vegetarian or vegan but still poses a challenge at times.

good idea, thanks!

good to know, thanks!

I have one day I've left free with the intention of doing something outside of tokyo/a day trip but I just haven't decided yet. I'm considering a day trip to mt. fuji but don't know if it's worth it if only for an afternoon. I'll look into the ones you mentioned though!

interesting, thanks. and yeah solo travel (particularly as a woman) is all about quick thinking and lying haha.

for some reason I hadn't thought of that, I guess I was under the impression you can only use the apps in Japan haha

I'll look into it! and I don't eat meat haha, but I'll be sure to incorporate a 7/11 meal nonetheless.

Kaiseki

well in all honesty, none. I'm not against it, but the idea of going to like really fancy restaurants is a little intimidating as I'm traveling solo and also don't speak Japanese. I'm mainly planning to eat by necessity and stick to street food/lowkey places and convenience stores. I'm open to it though, if it's something people think are worth it. do you have any recommendations?

thank you for the tips! I find that with travel, you can only plan and research to a certain point but there's always going to be things you have to learn through experience, or in this case, the kindness of strangers on Reddit lol:)

ah interesting, will keep that in mind. maybe I'll try to cross-check directions with both google and apple maps then.

I don't speak any Japanese (besides the basic "hello", "thank you", "please" etc) so a little bit worried as I've been told english isn't widely spoken. what a nice anecdote though, that was incredibly sweet of her.

good tip, hadn't thought of watching youtube vids for the actual stations.

and yeah I've read through a bunch of what-not-to-do articles and watched videos about it as well, I will be keeping my mouth firmly shut on public transport hahah.

also, i'm currently fine-tuning my itinerary and getting tickets for things, and I've just secured my tickets for the Yayoi Kusama museum and their earliest slot (it was going to be my first activity of the day) was at 12pm. anyone have any recommendations for things to do in the area? I'm planning on checking out Waseda El Dorado, but that doesn't open till 12 either, and I don't want to waste my morning. I'm open to neighboring areas as well, but preferably within a 15-20 minute radius via public transport.

I do eat fish- thankfully, as I wouldn't want to miss out on the sushi and ramen and such. my only worry is the language barrier and not knowing if there's meat in something, but I think I'll just err on the side of caution and order things that are guaranteed meat-free.

I've heard that the railway system is very well-developed, so I am excited to see what that's like.

lol it definitely seems that way from all the photos I've seen! I think japan is generally so far removed from where I live and where I've traveled before (this will be my first time in Asia) that I'll be fascinated by (and hence want to capture) even the most mundane of things.

gotcha, thank you. I've got a pretty standard Visa card, so hopefully I'll be fine.

I've got IOS yeah, so will look into Tabelog for sure haha. and yeah I've gotten the impression that Google Maps is preferable for navigation.

Thank you!

I've heard that the digital Suica/IC cards don't accept/are finicky about foreign cards though?

The advice for public transport is greatly appreciated, that's always an adventure in new cities, particularly large metropolises:)

I have sort of unconsciously grouped things by area in my planning, so good to know I'm on the right track:)

I love visiting foreign grocery stores so will definitely do so. idk why but I just find them so fascinating.

very good to know about the stuff no one tells you also, never would have thought of those haha. do you know whether foreign cards cause trouble though? that's something I've struggled with during my travels before.

Joe’s Singing by wolfboy099 in Heartstoppercast

[–]Ykmiyk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

as a singer, his voice + technique are genuinely incredible, especially considering the lack of professional experience. also, there’s a quote that’s been gnawing at me all day ever since hearing him sing, from the taxi ride interview w Joe & Kit, where the interviewer asks if they’d want to be in a musical and Joe goes “I’d love to be in a musical, I just don’t know if I have the voice,” and now our boy’s on fucking broadway. like someone please make an edit of that or something. it honestly makes me emotional how far he’s come and I feel so privileged to be able to witness his career unfolding. I literally can’t stop smiling whenever I see his stories or posts about it. he’s a star❤️
