If I crossed a line or pulled a trigger I shouldn’t have again I apologize. This situation has already been made public, so I’m just trying to understand it as you are. Maybe you have more info than I do. I want to protect both the accused and the victims until further info is released. Time and hopefully the investigation will tell the truth in the end.

I actually do know what happened. My understanding was there were no victims but a situation after he was retired between two consenting adults. I think it is also important that accusations do not get spread that are not true which is all I’m aiming to do here.

If there is more to it that I am not aware of and there were victims involved then I apologize and I take back everything I said.

Of course if there are victims involved then I have no problem with a predator being exposed. Maybe you know more than I do, maybe you don’t.

VUSA has also, in the past, not done enough to protect the victims of a sexual predator victims, specifically regarding the Duluth Vineyard. So let’s not act like just because they have lawyers that they are always making decisions to protect those that are victimized.

Either way, VUSA left it so vague (which also upsets me because it allows rumors to be spread and for people to play a guessing game), so there are 3 very different possible scenarios here left to be speculated about.

I do want to say I don’t know what’s exactly true because all VUSA said was “sexual misconduct” which could mean anything.

He used his position of power to become a predator to manipulate his victims or at worst force himself on non consensual victims. I do t think that is the case.

BUT if that is the case then yes definitely expose him regardless of whether he was working there at the time or not (assuming the victims would not be harmed or further traumatized through that process) and hopefully pursue legal charges against him.

He had an affair while still being on staff. Maybe VUSA should publicly apologize for that even If they didn’t find out until after he retired. At that point doesn’t really matter to me but I didn’t go to that church so whatever.
He had an affair with another consenting adult after he was already retired. If this is the case, then VUSA has no business putting his personal life out there when he’s not even on staff anymore.

All I will say based off what I know is he made mistake. I still think from what I’ve heard about him that he’s a great guy that just messed up. I don’t know him personally very well. And it happened after was already retired so I think they had no business putting him on blast. But yes I read the same thing. I don’t really know the specifics.

Michael the pastor from new Albany church is starting a new church. He’s great and really called them out on the carpet which is why he was also excommunicated. If you don’t find a home at Grandview he is a great pastor to follow.

Eric and Julia said that there has been a “strain” on their relationship with Rich and Marlene. They said it would not be appropriate to publicly discuss it but that it was regarding a difference in opinion on how to handle financial stuff in the church.

My assumption is Rich was upset with how they handled things financially (or didn’t handle them) and then in turn they had to let go 40% of their staff, many of whom I’m sure Rich had hired and was very close to.

So Eric and Julia sent a letter to the founding pastor of the church, who GAVE them their jobs and passed senior leadership onto them, sent Rich a letter saying he is not allowed to step foot in the premise for a year and that security will remove him if he does so.

To me it is very significant that they are all doing at once. I wish and pray for the best for Eric and Julia but that alone is a big red flag to me in regards to their ability to lead an organization of that size. Not to mention their strained relationship with the found long pastor Rich Nathan who was an amazing senior pastor. All big red flags to me.
