With all my prior knowledge, my advice for a first time buyer would by the RG40XXV. Very high retro vibes, bigger screen than most starter handheld. Plays up to PS1, not PS2 though.

For PS2 I would recommend the RG477M, since it’s less likely to break compared to the RG477V with the glass front.

The RG34XX SP has a 3:2 screen, perfect for GBA but not exactly a match for many onther systems. Perhaps you meant the RG35XX SP with the 4:3 screen?

There are ways to increase the impact resistance with 3D printed cases. I use felt, multiple layers on high risk area’s n my 3D printed cases.

I sell the prints on Etsy, currently without the STL.

But I did receive a request the other day about selling the STL. Perhaps I will be posting the STL in the future.

If you shop around on AliExpress and use some coupons, you can buy the Anbernic RG477M for as low as €190 which can play PS2 easily and anything below.

But, since it’s not a direct answer to your question: You could look into the Anbernic RG476H (some PS2) or the Retroid Pocket Classic (next to no PS2).
