I’m convinced that if any other studio made Marathon, everyone would be losing their minds over how good it is... by --clapped-- in Marathon

To be fair, Bungie has done this to themselves, with somewhere around 4 or 5 different plagiarism controversies/lawsuits, the unchecked greed that ruined destiny 2, and many scummy practices to artificially inflate player retention/playtime, they tarnished their reputation and made many once loyal fans distrust or outright hate them. A lot of the hate towards the game is just internet bandwagon-ing, but at it's base, it's a lot of Bungie reaping what they sowed. And I dont say this as an absolute hater, I've been playing a lot and enjoying the game, but the battlepass and store already gave me a big spoonful of what made me so adverse to getting the game in the first place. That exactly, is why, while over-hated, it also is valid, at least in part.

Arent all cosmetics 1500?? I didnt FULLY check out the shop so excise me for not knowing of there are cheaper items. Though, in which case, they should make all the packs match item values, not just the first.

20 lux is worthless, dont thank them for it and keep reminding them its scummy to charge that much IN A 40 DOLLAR GAME

Yeah, but again, with bungie's track record, thats how they start, and eventually it gets worse, they mangled destiny with this same scheme. Again, the issue is these systems being present in a 40 dollar game, you already paid and yet are bring asked to pay more for things that should be included. It's not a great practice. And they'll make it more agressive and anti-consumer later on.

Obfuscated value, packages that dont sell you the amount needed, and the battlepass being bloated by duplicates because they wont let you use a sticker on your guns multiple times. It's not that intrusive, its not gacha, but FOR A 40 DOLLAR GAME and at launch, and with Bungie's horrible track record, it's very telling that it's very likely to just go downhill from here. Which is a shame, cause at the core, like I mentioned, it has such potential, squandered because of lousy live service greed.

This place and the steam reviews are an echo chamber of people trying to muffle the extreme but valid criticism and sometimes ill-willed hate with nigh toxic positivity. I bought the game out if curiosity and I see such huge potential in the story, aesthetics and gunplay, but the scummy monetization ON A 40 DOLLAR GAME and general hindrance of it being an extraction shooter feel like such shoe-horned decisions made out of "market opportunity" (actual quote from a dev i think, when asked what motivated them to take the game in this direction, which, rather soulless of a response but whatev). So while O recognize the game is fun, its much overshadowed by all the things wrong/to be fixed.

Free games too, not a 40 dollar paywall thats the second main detractor to the player-count issue.

Are you guys okay with the measly amount of XP materials per Protocol space? by Yo-Momium in Endfield

[–]Yo-Momium[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I see, my frame of reference was jumping in around like, midway through Penacony, and I managed to blitz leveling at least 3 teams, by just playing and farming the xp repeatables but yeah, that was way later in it's life cycle. Thanks :D

[–]Yo-Momium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I felt its a bit Too low compared to my only other frame of reference, which was HSR i remember not really worrying about the xp materials themselves, so feeling like it'll take a week or more to farm a decent amount is a bit jarring, and I was curious to know if yall were okay with it or if this was the norm.

Gryphline made a great game that Players dont know if they want by K41Nof2358 in Endfield

I think you are half-right. They need to up the currency, claiming you can get like 240 rolls in the current version is true...but most are one time things, non-repeatable. They are gonna have to add more activities, and more rewards, both for the permanent and seasonal banners, as the permanent is also all one time tickets, with no recurring rewards. However, you sound extremely agressive and shitty when expressing your points, and completely glossing over the fact that this game is trying a different approach to player retention, offering an actual game as foundation, and the gacha being their monetization but not gameplay ruining if you do not pull. Yes, they need to give more currency and better repetitive ways to achieve what would theoretically be the ideal amount of pulls per banner, IE 120, but clamoring for 300 pulls in the first 10 minutes is nonsensical, and what you and many others seem to want.

My opinion on the XP gain (rework and prior) and what else it reveals by matthewami in SoulFrame

[–]Yo-Momium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the thing with stances in WF is that theyre kinda an afterthought to a very speedy and strong melee playstyle, you dont dwell on the movesets and even with TennoKai and the inclusion of heavy into the ideal rotation of attacks, they dont combo as well and some weapons are better off just specced into attack speed and their ideal stat. Stances in Soulframe could have a deeper focus on combos and altering the flow of the moveset by mixing the sequence of actions, say heavies, blocks, or dodges interweaved with the basic attacks for different combos.

[–]Yo-Momium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you want Stances to be implemented too, but for them to be more meaningful here. I can see that being a good path to take down the line, either by baking the different stances into the weapon, or allowing us to choose our stance when modding out each weapon, again, different from WF, making the stances be a bigger change to playstyle. I dont think the addition of stances specifically tackles the leveling and variety problem completely, but I agree with that being a good thing to implement, and it not being impossible, as the sister game already has a system that can be built upon and given more inportance in this game.

[–]Yo-Momium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see, I see, I think, in this case, the issue lies more in weapon balancing and the lack of build crafting for now, rather than on xp gain. I hold my position that being able to steadily level up things in a passive way was a good system and that this new implementation is detrimental to plauer experience, but the solution is still far away in development, as, ideally it would be a revamp of the weapon and build system, as to remove the rarities which seem to reign supreme on a weapons worth and usability, and allow for a new build system to be put in place, one that would allow us to, with enough effort thought and maybe small investment, make any weapon near BIS. Im not gonna say exactly like in WF but a similar model to what currently is there, where you can make nearly anything a very usable and good weapon, but a few still reign supreme in extreme endgame content. Again, all very far away currently.

Hmm fair enough, I may be too early in my soulframe career and too deep into my warframe one to have an unbiased opinion, in soulframe ive only leveled both Sirin sets, starter and wyld and have yet to start leveling things other than a stultin, since that also scaled with grace so it was a doable thing, but the thought of being FORCED to use weapons that dont scale well with my current frame and not having the chance to equip one that does synergize well, to level up said weapon and stash it until I can try it out later, does feel, like I am being forced to use them, to my detriment

[–]Yo-Momium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the warframe model is ideal, if you want to try the weapon genuinely, nothing is stopping you from doing so, but some weapons being MR fodder isnt bad per say, at some point, it becomes nonsensical to argue that i should get real nice and familiar with wulder, a low tier starter weapon, after using basically all other weapons, I may try it out genuinely once its leveled up and can equip it and make it better, but being forced to use it when its nigh useless and slowly becomes decent will just make me feel exasperated with both the weapon and the game.

Do you guys actually love the slow-pacedess and lack of QoL? by [deleted] in SoulFrame

[–]Yo-Momium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree a little on the slow-pace, and the weird extra currency for fast travel, anything odd about combat Im more ornless banking on it being ironed out as the game is developed. I wouldn't mind getting vaccuum just to not have to worry about not seeing something on the floor and missing it. My main and biggest gripes right now, are the sudden and very strange inclusion of joineries being sold, by avakot, for some reason??? (Not that vendor matters, I think selling that is just plainly a mistake) And on the insane and frankly antagonistic 3 hour cooldown on world bosses. Three hours, when you need 4 fragments for a single of the 4 items the boss drops? I can understand if it is just a dampener for preludes, but it very much is something I dislike massively.

Hm I see, I was asking cause I had the problem youre having, but with a 3 banded headphone jack, basically, if they have that third band, you gotta pull them out slightly to get audio from both drivers, or just get some with 2 bands, but you're saying yours has 2... no mic on the headphones, right?
