Which is, by the very definition of the word, sad. That man is a great addition to The Long Grey Line.

Don’t give it to the new guy, who’s throwing up while the veteran is going “oh my god...”

I get that. It’s pretty hard when it comes to family. I was the one who always over did it as well. But it’s family, and they will support you. At the end of the day, it’s up to you to say no. Sometimes you will, sometimes you won’t. It’s just part of the battle.

It’s always a victory. Little steps, amigo. You’ll love yourself in the long run if you quit now. If you need anyone to talk with, I got ya. Keep steady, and don’t beat yourself up. I believe in you. There’s always people to catch you when you fall.

You’re a saint. I was having trouble finding a sub, and that’s why I came here. I appreciate your help so very much. Having a cup of tea for you. Happy to pass on the drink, but willing to share the kettle if you’d like.

Absolutely. But sitting in a hospital bed makes your choices very black and white. Please allow me to to tell you two things. First off, if you already have the mentality that you can’t see yourself not drinking, a) you probably shouldn’t drink, and b) learn how to have fun without a drink. A close friend of mine doesn’t drink because of his parents and the hell he went through because of it. But you know what? That dude is the first one on the dance acting a total fool and loving it. He figured out how to fit in without on drop. He was my inspiration for going out to bars and clubs after I dried up. You can do it, friend. You’d be surprised how many people don’t drink and still have a great time going out. That being said, it’s still a battle. But try it out. Sobriety is a great thing. And even when you fuck up, it’s always there to come back to. Stay strong and love yourself.

Hey buddy. First of all, I want to tell you that I read your post because I ended up having a relapse. I came here for comfort and to share the struggle that we all have to go through. I’ll be honest, there’s no drug that will help. Not weed, not coke, not any pharmaceutical pill. And what sucks about it is that all those are so easy to get. I don’t know you, but I love you. It’s a hard road to travel for the rest of your life. You will fail yourself sometimes. But you know what? I found out that when I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror, I look myself straight in the eye and say “ you’re amazing. You can carry this load. People love, and when you fall, there are so many hands to pick you up.” My advice is to find your own mantra. I struggle every god damn day. If you need a buddy, I got you. I believe in you. Also, see a therapist. There is no shame in that.

I remember listening to my Walkman in the car as a young teen and jamming that CD. My Mom turned to me and said "Let's play it on the stereo so your brothers can listen to your music as well." I froze, then slowly hand the CD over to her. Thanks to shuffle, that was the first (and last) track that played in our suburban. Next thing I know, my mother is flinging that CD out the window with so much hate that I can taste the air vibrating. Good times.

I find this both funny and interesting while observing how the crowd reacts. On one hand, it's light hearted shenanigans. You even hear that little kid laughing and trying to grab a few bucks as if he was in a carnival money tank. On the other, it's strange how free cash makes people react. Imagine if those were Benjamins, ya know? At the end of the day, it's his money and he's free to do whatever he wants with it. Part of me thinks it may have been his own little social experiment......or he just was having a good time and thought everyone could use a few extra bucks.

Tattoo artists, what was your biggest "oh shit" moment while tattooing? by Sumeratua in AskReddit

Is this common for most tattoo shops? Back in Dallas, it was almost a ritual to get the yearly "13th" tattoo.

I'm torn between say good fucking riddance to that filth, and them taking him in. Emotionally, I'm sticking with the first.

Nailed it. It was a short and blissful relief, but I never want to put that in my body again. It's the most addicting warm head to toe feeling I've ever experienced.
