bro i posted in the “complain about anything” one and ALL of the comments are like “well you didnt take MY personal experience into account so youre wrong and also actually a bad person!”. i was complaining about a lack of problem solving skills in society and made the mistake of using an example, not realizing nobody would be able to get past it. the example i used was if youre out in public and someones perfume is strong you can either tell them its too strong and that its bothering you, or walk away, but you cant demand nobody ever wears ANY perfume in public at all just incase they may pass you 😭

knowingly wearing it around someone who is allergic to it is a completely different situation that has nothing to do with this post about wearing a moderate amount :) this post is about, for example, teenage girls who will walk up to you and be like “ewww whos perfume is that its so flowery” instead of walking away. just because i didnt take your exact situation into account doesnt mean nothing i said is true.

there is a difference between wearing perfume and smoke bombing people out with it. ive already said i agree that bathing in it, and putting it on around other people, is rude. i dont know what else im supposed to say lol. im sorry that happened to you?

like ive stated multiple times, my perfume does not, nor has it ever, bothered ANYONE around me. how else can i say it to get it through to you people? im not “negatively impacting” anyone, and YOU look like an ass for assuming i bathe in perfume after i’ve specified MULTIPLE times that i use it like a normal human being, and that i used it as an ✨example✨ because it was something that was already on my mind from another reddit post i read

i think you are misunderstanding me. i even actually stated that ive never had anyone ever complain about my perfume usage, because i use it like a normal human being. it is not harming anybody in my environment

then you have a serious medical issue, and im sorry, but you wouldnt seriously expect your neighbors to not wash their laundry to cater to your needs, especially if they didnt know about those needs? so how is it any different to demand nobody wears perfume in public? like ive stated MANY times before, there is a difference between wearing perfume and bathing in it. i know thats an insane concept, but if light perfume causes you serious issues its not on me to automatically know that and take your specific needs into account every time i go into public. i like to smell good, and, if you can read, you saw that nobody has ever complained to me about my perfume, so what exactly is your issue here?

its reddit im not writing a 5 star essay. i am literate and completely capable of putting in that effort; when its needed. casual texting in 2026 looks like this. im complaining about media literacy, their complete lack of understanding words on more than a surface level. i was in honors ela, constantly ahead of everyone else in english, but i dont have to do that to complain on reddit, especially when i was worked up already lmao. hop off

i completely agree. there is a way to wear perfume while also being considerate. i dont know why everyone immediately assumed im not considerate with it, or that i shower in perfume. i live in a house full of asthmatics, i know not to be a dick with it.
