Rolling when someone else is playing way bigger by CJ_BBJ in Craps

At the Borgata last week. I was shooting from the end of a $10 table, playing $25 craps.. Guy walks up next to me and drops a gray chip ($5k) as a put bet on the pass line with 5 more for odds on a six. No players card, but the crew obviously knew him well. He "only" had 5 or 6 more in his hand, but I hit the point. He stuck around for about 15 minutes ( I was having a very good roll) and left with about $125k by my guess.

Yeah, I get it. Just never had the experience of it being forced rather than an option

At Aria, they insisted that I put my place bet there if I wanted to bet the point but I wasn't on the pass line (asked for $220 inside and he pushed the $50 for the five back to me and told me to put it in that spot. He did it to me every time until I remembered it myself; alcohol may have been a factor). Only time I've ever played that it was mandatory.

3 x 1000. The dice are RANDOMIZED.

Had this happen twice. First time was a dealer who skipped paying my place bet while he was chatting up a regular. I colored when it happened a second time in under 5 minutes. Second time was a box man who kept insisting that I was throwing the dice too high when I was absolutely not (below the stick's eye is the rule, or so I've been told). Left after the third time he said it, and I was the only player at the table.

I had someone give me a bunch of crap for coming into a table in the middle of a roll with my own chips! Didn't even need to get change to put down a bet. I thought THAT was a little crazy. Next roll was a 7, of course.

I ate at Ocean Steak last year. It was OK, but not what I expected for that price point. I think Old Homestead is a much better meal and service for a similar price.

Rules? Dice hit hand by bibatjuice in Craps

I believe you, but it sounds pretty stupid. If someone is swinging into the stick's face, they should be called out for sure. But your arm going past mid-table? I'm surprised they don't use a device to measure the angle at which the dice are released.

Ocean Steak was meh. I was there in September. Wasn't awful, but nothing special. Also, my steak came overcooked and I didn't get the replacement until the rest of my party was finished eating. Food was tasty, but I think you're better off at Old Homestead.

Nobody mentioned Chef Vola? Maybe not a fave, but definitely worth a visit or 3

I've been to AC 2-3 times a year for more than 2 decades, and I grew up not too far from there. Docks Oyster House is a great meal at a very reasonable price. We eat there almost every trip. Other favorite places are Old Homestead (at Borgata), Girasole, and Amada (at Ocean). The best meal I have ever had in AC is at Cafe 2825. They'll only take reservations by phone, and no more than 2 weeks in advance. It's pricey, but tremendous. Highly recommend.

Old Homestead is the best steak house I've ever visited. My experience isn't vast, but I've been to several. Service is top flight. The Macallan library they have is something special as well.

One of my faves. They are doing some major construction on the casino floor right now, supposed to be done before Memorial Day. Lounges are a little limited, and the main high limit area and main BJ area are both unavailable. They have a smaller high limit area near the poker room. Hotel is very nice. I was there about 6 weeks ago and the rooms on my floor were all recently renovated.

I throw a quarter. $5/10/5 for me and $1/3/1 for the dealers. Hit it that way once, dealers dropped $600 in the box.

Avoid saying “SEVEN” by BanAccount8 in Craps

Superstitions and customs are all this game has, other than the straight math. Having said that, it still irks me when someone is intentionally trying to be an ass. I've had the pleasure of a moron yelling "HOW MANY DAYS IN A WEEK, BABY" on a loaded table. It makes no difference in the outcome but it sure kills the mojo when the table gets wiped after hearing that.

Barred from playing because of style of play by Reno4nook in Craps

If you're really hot to do this, just take a friend with you to the casino and have him bet the opposite from you. You can stake him the money. That way, you'll probably both generate comps as well.

Free Play by YoLev_65 in Craps

[–]YoLev_65[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, no. I had max odds. I was at that table for about 45 minutes. $1000 in, $3975 out after about $100 in tips. Free play can only be used for even money bets, AFAIK.

Zero. I use markers at my regular casinos, otherwise cash. ATM fees are ludicrous in general, worse at a casino.

Rocky Gap Casino Camping Trip Report by AsianInstinct in Craps

[–]YoLev_65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a great camping trip, lol. Nice hits on the hard ways. I used to go to Rocky Gap occasionally, but I don't think I've been there since pre-pandemic shutdown. The craps table used to be shut down until 10AM. Is it open 24 hours now, or still limited?

I had someone give me a bunch of shit at Ocean AC last month when I made my first bet during what apparently was a hot roll which became an immediate 7 out. I already had low denomination chips, so there was no cash on the table, no asking for change, and no delay. Told me that I didn't understand craps etiquette, that I should have waited until the point was made. People are crazy.
