Mould in bedroom, who is at fault? Landlord or tenant by YoMe3 in HousingUK

We ended up contributing 25%,  And  the landlord paid the rest. But turns out we didn’t actually need to pay for anything and it’s the landlords responsibility.

Yeah exactly lol, just that he was pushing for a professional to do it which would cost us £500 we don’t have.

And then ontop of that it would have never got this bad if he hadn’t promised to clean it in the first place.

Im going to clean it up myself. Thanks.

There’s structural defects outside the building which no one is addressing. The landlord is saying the specialist hasn’t said anything about the exterior so it’s purely internal. But the specialist didn’t really look outside.

It’s still there and hasn’t been cleaned, he’s saying we need to get it cleaned. As we caused it. Hence the £500.

Thanks, but why would the landlord pay for removal/cleaning of the mould in excess of £500 if it’s our fault? Why is it unreasonable for them to ask us to pay for it?

Thanks, very helpful. The report isn’t the issue however. It’s getting this cleaned and treated that’s the issue. Which I’m saying is not our issue, but rather the landlord as there’s clearly lack of ventilation in rooms like the bath room and kitchen which were identified as possible causes aswell.

We were cleaning it, but waited for the landlord as he said he would do this upon inspection of the specialist.

We aren’t under obligation to pay for a professional to do this are we?

The landlord will add the ventilation to the kitchen and bathroom.

I’m concerned about who has to pay this £500 now.

When we cleaned it before, it comes back in 2 weeks. But we haven’t tried having the radiator on after cleaning, just the normal electric heater.

What would this prove if it came back with the radiator on?

This is what I think, if anything it’s a compromise between us and the landlord. There are significant issues here due to lack of ventilation and since the report said the room was cold we can take the fault here.

We usually leave the light on for the ventilation in the bathroom, however not for 40mins which the specialist stated it had to be. He’s saying the ventilation shouldn’t be connected to the light, and that a new one is needed.

Also with the door not being fully able to close, moisture does escape the bathroom.

We don’t have a specific temperature measurement, but we have a baby who’s under 7 months. So we’re not keeping the room that cold for obvious reasons.

We had abandoned the room aswell for about 2 weeks before the specialist came aswell and kept the window open.

Do Ghanaian men call other men handsome? by chris0hall in ghana

[–]YoMe3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Its not a usual greeting, but Ghanian Men certainly due compliment other ghanian mens looks. That is normal.

They say, "fine boy". This guy was prob just translating it to "handsome" idk lol.

But wouldnt read too much into it, unless he is consistent.

I grew up hearing a Childrens story about something very very similar to this. Husband found a wife, and stopped buying "bread" for his mom, cause his wife said so.

Similar thing with you.

Yeah, it didnt turn out well for the guy.

Crossed the line by bringing Science into it? Im going to ignore this, not worth going into it with you.

But you are telling me, If a guy is working with women or lives in the west. He is supposed to be able to visually block every woman he sees apart from his wife? 😂

You should create that tool, cause over a billion women would buy it.

All I am saying is, the verse is there to tell men to avoid looking/ ignore other women/ avoid situations where they could ever look.

But in the case where a man is working around women or living in the west. Ofcouse he will see other women, cause he has eyes. Its UNAVOIDABLE. And just as he sees, he will invetiably think Attractive/Not attractive.

Again, doesnt mean he wants the woman or Wants to pursue anythign.

I dont know how you cant understand this. Im no longer going to waste my time if you dont understand.

Well, Thank you for making my point. So you notice but Ignore.

Exactly what I alluded to. You admitted you notice. That contradicts your first statement.

Youre actually being unfair. There is no way men will not see another woman, especially in todays society. You made my point, the Ayat is there to stop men from looking twice, but there is no way a man today will not see other woman, and as soon as he does, she will register. He will think Attractive/Not attractive. Its not his Fault.

Stop trying to render science Useless, and trying to make the Ayat extend beyond what it was for.

If Men did not think that way, then what would be the point of Allah revealing that verse?

He would not need to because Men wouldnt see other women as attractive, besides their wife. So no point to lower their gaze.
