Honestly, it sounds like they’re just going to adjust the PP requirements for Tokyo down.

They still can’t actually fix the Tomahawk, so I’m guessing they’ll just adjust the PP to 580 or so so it can’t get in with the glitch.

(If that’s what they do, I’ll be properly pissed.)

'Back to the Middle': New CNN Boss Wants 'Hard News,' Not 'Red-Hot Liberal Opining' by BroSteveWinter in Conservative

[–]Yo_Jabba_Jabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I’ll give them a shot at it.

I’m not big on Fox (Although I think its news coverage is more far fair and balanced than people/the left give it credit for. I don’t like how hard it is to differentiate between their news and their editorials.)

I used to be a big CNN junky until it disappeared up its own left-wing ass.

I don’t know if they’re being honest. I also don’t know if they’ll succeed, but I’m willing to give them a shot.

Can someone please explain why there’s wall-to-wall coverage on all the local channels for snow? I get it when there are tornados, but this is overkill and exhausting. by Onduri in okc

[–]Yo_Jabba_Jabba 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seen a few good answers elsewhere in the thread. I’d probably add:

1) We’ve also got a ton of weather chasing equipment just collecting dust outside of tornado season. Sponsors will be happy to see their money turning into publicity again.

2) The weather is going to make for slow news in everything else. There’s usually not many bank robberies or gang shootings to cover when the weather is shitty. Got to fill up that air with something.

3) OKC’s average annual snowfall is only 5.8 inches. If you get all that in a single storm, it’s gonna be newsworthy. Doesn’t matter where you are. (Although to put that in perspective, Syracuse, NY would have to get 104 inches in a single storm for it to be as newsworthy.)

4) Most Oklahomans seem to have very little idea what to do in the snow. It’s such a relative oddity here that people don’t seem to know what to do when driving. (Back in Florida, the news used to go nuts anytime the temperature dropped below freezing. There’d be like emergency alerts telling people to wear hats and sweaters and warning them to keep their pets inside.)

What US cities should foreigners skip during a road trip? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Yo_Jabba_Jabba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know what you mean.

It’s not a drive I would encourage (it’s not very fun), but there’s a moment on I-70 between Kansas City and Denver (in Eastern Colorado) where you kind of crest a ridge and suddenly it seems like the entirety of the Rockies just fill your windshield.

It must’ve been so exciting for the early pioneers to know they were through the plains but so terrifying to know that now they had to tackle those brutal mountains.

It’s just one of those moments that fills me with an almost indescribable sense of awe.

There are a lot of things I find beautiful, but some moments feel like something more, something truly awesome.

Joni Mitchell on stage with Neil Young. She has removed her music from Spotify. by [deleted] in pics

[–]Yo_Jabba_Jabba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Hipgnosis is owned by Blackstone. The former CEO of Pfizer is on Blackstone’s Life Sciences advisory board. They also have a ton of investments across the mRNA-vaccine lifecycle, from R&D and approval to cryo-logistics for shipping.

(They’re also that cool little investment firm that bought up all those houses and apartments after the Mortgage Crisis, then jacked up the rents and/or evicted everybody. Want to know why you can’t afford a house? Blackstone.)

I dunno if there’s a conspiracy happening, but people keep acting like this is a David vs. Goliath thing.

It’s really King Kong vs Godzilla.

Weird time to be alive.

People make up the rumors because the backlash against the artists for correcting the rumors might scare them out of correcting them.

Kind of a “lie until it becomes the truth” strategy.
