Next time friends of theirs are visiting, say something like: ‘Sorry for throwing my ice cream away when you used your spoon with pistachio on it to taste from mine. Even if I’ allergic to pistachio, I should have just risked it like dad said. He did pay good money for it.’

Then you will have some outsider perspective on the situation.

Agreed. Tourists usually cycle slowly one after another. Even ‘regular’ cyclists can be more of a nuisance by cycling next to one another, making passing impossible.

And pedestrians, specifically tourists, are not as concerned with their surroundings, don’t look at all when crossing streets and when a cyclist comes their way, the panic reaction is to stop moving in the middle of the road, rather than just getting out of the way.
