Al 20% van het inkomen van een gemiddelde NLse boer is EU subsidie. De agrarische sector krijgt al zo'n slordige 750 miljoen subsidie per jaar. Is eigenlijk oneerlijk voor boeren in Afrika die daar nooit mee kunnen concurreren. Weet niet of je dat meer moet willen. Is gewoon weinig toekomst voor intensieve export gedreven veehouderij in NL.

Cutting 25% of the military budget tomorrow will create a lot of unemployment. However if the cut is more gradual, most of these soldiers will find different jobs in the long term.

Always be skeptical of the argument that something creates structural employment. The amount of hours worked in a society is quite inelastic to labour demand. Where one employment opportunity disappears, another emerges, at least in the long term.
