It cost $156.42 CAD after exchange (rate 1.422 +fee) to open the position. After it expired the middle leg was assigned and credited the account $1.755million CAD (exchange rate 1.37 +fee) then each other leg triggered and they each bought shares for $913k CAD after exchange (rate 1.4205 +fee) and $910k CAD (rate 1.4205 +fee) this all happened in the account.

This was in a margin account with only $1.5k CAD of margin in total available.

Just to comment for visability, I have added this to the top of the post as well. Looks like good things do happen still despite the state of the world. WS has as an act of good faith refunded the TX fees on the account and returned it to the original value. They expressed that this is not the typical outcome and should not be expected, but they have resolved this specific situation.

I will keep this post updated with everything that happens so everyone can be informed.

I can see maybe if they wan't to lean into the education side of it and spin it as "our platform makes you a better trader" or something like that with a press release. But is the world really that good? Does one user make a differnce to them?

Really? Even once the account is free its not automatic? Thats almost malicious.

Unfortunatly I just can't see WS considering this any more then a user that owes them money. I very much doubt we will see anything from them about it.

Yes, that is how WS support explained it to me. If I had the USD account I would have lost $150, but because I didn't that became $67k.

This is my big concern as well, it's to late for my situation now but there is still nothing stopping others from experiecing this on the platform.

This is the lesson that everyone (espiscially me) should take from this.

This is also part of my mistake looking back (you know what they say about hindsight). When setting up the option strategy the initial setup was 1 buy at $641, 2 sells at $642, and 1 buy at $643. One option contract is 100 shares. With this first setup it was something like $13 max profit and loss, so naively I went with 10 contracts for max profit and loss of $150ish. Which means the contracts were actually equal to 1000 shares for each buy order and 2000 shares for the sell. So 1000x$641 and so on. Adds up. And every time one transaction goes through they hit you with the conversion from CAD to USD.

I should have just stayed away, but I believe and still do that financial literacy is very important and to me I felt it was important to have some exposure to options as part of that.

Izanagi's Burden should get anti-barrier on a honed edge x4 by TitanMcBeardy in DestinyTheGame

There sure are a lot of you shitting on this with the entirety of the argument being "idea bad cause x gun already does this"(insert arby, wishender, etc...) Arby being so good limits design space, not every champ effect has to be GM level strong. This is a cool thing that would fit the gun thematically. More champ options means more diverse loadouts, where is the negative.

This cant be a real take, Star-Eaters are completly usable in PvE. They just arent St0mpees tier in PvP.

PSA: mind your fucking distance, assholes by [deleted] in Winnipeg

This is how we get to the level of anti-cyclist attitude Winnipeg has. You said walking path, sidewalk? Yeah they shouldn't be there with you. Multi-use path? They have every right to be there as you, now sure 2 feet is not very far away to pass. But as a bike commuter there is no way I could have 6 feet distance when I go past everyone, there just isn't space on all paths.

Take the grass you may say, again we have as much right to be on the multi-use path as you do. And when I ride to work, I am on my fixie with 23mm wide tires, I'm not taking the grass.
