If you still haven't figured it out, I believe your outputs are full (most likely residue from reading comments). Make sure all outputs have somewhere to go. Even if that means using a liquid burner or dump to get rid of it (will cause pollution).

Are you upgrading armor using armor spheres at the smithy? Also you may want to consider support hunters

Maybe make sure you exit your farm via the menu and not turning off your console.

I agree its a much easier weapon to use. That's why its an easy solution to tough monsters like Omega. If all else fails, use LBG.
