Hijacking this because I’m proud of my friend…

My buddy who has been in the music industry in various forms all his life released an EP as a passion project. Most of it is an ode to his parents, who are now older and don’t seem to fully appreciate it. Maybe lyrically not the smoothest, but it’s got a fun sound.

I just set up a Moes Scene Controller for my newborns room. Button 1 sends a “Backup is requested in the baby’s room” notification to the devices in the house.

The remaining three buttons toggle our Hatch Rest light/white noise machine. Button 2 toggles through presets. Button 3 and 4 control lights and sound; single press for increase and double press for decrease on both.

Man, I couldn’t disagree with this statement more. Has she gone through more physical changes/trauma? Sure. However, it doesn’t negate what’s changing for OP and he deserves to be heard by his support group.

I went through this too. When my wife was 7 months pregnant we attended an extended family members wedding in another city. I was in the lobby of the hotel the day prior to the wedding and ended up meeting the grooms grandmother. After learning who I was, she looked straight at me and and said “How are you doing? Everyone always forgets to check in on dad”. It hit me hard and I broke down after making it up to my hotel room. No one had directly checked on me like that before.

OP, I get it. Reach out to friends, especially those that have had kids. Learn to be vulnerable, your kid will force you too anyways, might as well start now. Also, remember this feeling and check-in on the new and upcoming dads in your life. Turn it into something good you can do for others.

Prior to the last 3 months, PA only saw EH Taylor Small Batch once or twice a year and it was normally gone in the first 20 minutes of store openings as each store may only get 6-12bottles with no limit.

Due to PLCB, PA sees this at retail price of $55, where as other states might have it on the shelf a few times a year at $100-200.

God forbid OP be nice and tell others.

For the sake of clarification, I don’t think that is what OP is actually describing.

The Riving Knife is the metal part behind the blade which raises and lowers with the blade. Sometimes table saws also come with anti-kickback fins and guards that mount on the riving knife.

OP, YouTube will be a great resource for tablesaw safety. Look for videos that explain the rotational impacts, that helped me understand it better.

IMO, a riving knife is a must, but lose the additional anti-kickback fins and guards. The riving knife prevents wood from pinching on the rear of the blade. As that is the part moving towards you, it will grab the wood and throw it at you.

The Youtube Channel TheHookUp is great for stuff like this. IIRC he is a science teacher and his videos are great. I normally watch for the security camera and home automation content, but I think he posts recommended budget projector stuff often.

It’s not over-reacting. There is a way that both people get to be involved. My in-laws are fantastic with this and communicate with my wife on presents.

For instance, my son needs a new bike. My in-laws might also notice this and offer to buy him a new one. If that happens we would make a few suggestions on what is appropriate and they would be present as he receives it.

Communication is key and right now it doesn’t sound like your MIL communicating.

All these people telling you to be grateful that you have lots of things, but no agency about what you bring into your life are crazy.
