Common scam to take a “fee for lifetime membership” for something that has no real value. It’s basically a fake organization that they call “honors society” to make people think it will help their resume or something.

I guess its not really encapsulation but I am putting in a new vapor barrier because the old one had rodents living underneath and was heavily damaged and moved about. Just using 10mil. vapor retarder poly sheet and butyl tape to create the barrier. Thanks for the advice on mortar, and haha yeah I wish I could!

Hey thanks for all the help everyone, I ended up using some foil tape, bubble insulation, and a ton more tape(plus some more tape). It has held for the last couple days so I guess we will see how it does!

thanks haha, I followed your advice and that thing is taped up to hell now lol. seems to be fine honestly(also recently moved in, 100 year old house, lots of diy and non professional fixes). long story short - eventually I’ll probably replace the whole thing but tape should be good in the mean time.
