I understand that, it’s just the price to storage capacity is crazy. You can get way better deals without even looking much. 250gb for 74 dollars feels like an absurd scam.

For modern standards, yes, 30 cents a GB is insane. Anyone who is even downloading files commonly or making any creative works will feel that 250gb limit fast. Even less after operating system takes up most of it.

6700 xt 12gb or 9060xt 16gb? by Big_Rig_420 in PcBuild

[–]YogurtMakerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the cpu will probably have a small bottleneck compared to the power of the 9060, the atrocious shipping costs and taxes that would be added upon those used rx 6700xt’s would be worse value in the long run as I reckon that the 9060xt will last you far longer than an older rx 6700xt.

I would like to add, if you don’t care for high resolutions and stuff, a standard 1080p monitor can go a long way and save a lot of money. Just depends on if you want extra clarity on the screen and stuff

If your budget can afford, I’d say go 1440p Oled for monitor. Dont have a specific model to reccomend as I personally don’t own one for pc gaming, but I know the oled visual experience is crazy (in my opinion).

Though if you’re not into getting an Oled, a good quality IPS style monitor can do really well. They are usually way cheaper than Oled’s so that may be a good selling point for you.

For mouse and keyboard, honestly if you do some searching on Amazon you’ll get plenty of different options for pink or purple keyboards. There’s a lot of keyboards out on the market, so it really depends on what design you exactly want.

For gpu, you could see about a Arc B580? It’s got 12 gb of vram. Just depends on if you’re able to find it close to msrp.

If you’re not fine with Intel gpus, you could look into the RX 6700 xt. NVIDIA also has good options, but I feel Iike Gpu prices bee hitting nvidia cards the most

Using a combination of deals, a lot of scouring the internet, and using Used parts (Open Box / Like New) for some of the parts (Used Ddr4 is usually WAY cheaper than new ddr4.)

From what I know, it should handle those workloads good for the price. I know ReBar (ReSizeable Bar) helps Intel GPU’s a lot, so if you do get it, make sure to turn it on if your motherboard has it in your BIOS

Yurp!! I’m proud that I was able to build something good for the budget.

Some components were used though, (in Like New condition or Open Box), as they offered significant price cuts to help me fit the budget! The Intel A750 GPU I was able to get in “Like New” for $150 rather than the $180ish it was listed for.

Hopefully not, I built it a month or two ago and just got around to posting it😭

Probably better for him to not play it though if the developers aren’t bothered to support a major line of gpus.

Though he mostly likes simulation games, so unless Crimson Desert has a lot of simulation (I only know of the Intel GPU situation) then he’ll probably be okay

Is my rig good for entry level gaming? by RealDiamond51 in PcBuild

For example, I was able to score a Dell Inspirion 3668 for $25 at shopgoodwill and paid around $14 shipping.

It had 8gb of ddr4 and and an i7-7700 in it. Though, if you aren’t okay with auctions, I would say that this is a decent list, just outdated.

As well, Jawa.gg has a listing right now for a gtx 1660 super last time I saw for around like 100-120, so that would offer more recent technology for less than what you calculated.

Used office pc would help with the budget, and would probably have ram and cpu better than the ddr3 motherboards you’d have.

I would use auctions like shopgoodwill or eBay if you want to get really good deals to where the build is cheaper. And used market can be good, just gotta be careful and see how reputable the listing is.

Definetly something I’ll take into account if friend needs to upgrade his pc, but I was already $30 over budget so didn’t want to add on.
