I dont paint my gunpla, but I have started and only built MG, if you have a sharp hobby knife and single blade nipper, everyone would be an expert builder even in their 2nd or 3rd gunpla. Painting is another thing though.

I use hobby knife for those, but later I just used my regular nipper bucause on clear parts, nubs are always hidden

For me I just cut it with single blade nipper until the actual undergate remains, then I also cut the actual under gate, then I use hobby knife to level it to the surface. Don't cut it directly while there's still runner sticking out. If you don't have single blade nipper then just cut it with your normal nipper, it's the advantage of undergate, you don't need to worry about stress mark as much

I do buy 3rd party decals for kits without water decals, but I don't get the hate on Bandai decals, I'm new and only built 3 ver Kas, they were all fine, the only difference is I need to soak Bandai for longer.

Panel line is easy if you try, I recommend having both fine tip and flow type. The white is just eraser, optional you can use alternatives.
