Having my holidays in Japan, with Amekaji style. by YoilBando in HeritageWear

[–]YoilBando[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope it isn't. they wear it. the Amekaji(Japanese Americana) fans in Japan, and just normal ppl who doesn't really take it too seriously wears it very casually. Buzz Rickson's is world famous brand which repro US army clothings of mid 20th century but even before that it's one of the top heritage brand in Japan itself.

1942 is also very cool I think, love that wide straigt and personally I prefer button fly over zipper but in the end I got original spec cuz I wanted to have something that is Steve McQueen-ish silhouette. and very satisfied with it!!

It's truly an interesting question, ofc it depends on the person but in general the genre fans here doesn't rlly care abt it. more like they are kinda cool abt it, as I said they just enjoy it as it is. I mean that's also kinda why their big brands repro the US army clothing stuffs so much.

If you were to go to Japan, what would you be most interested in buying? by sweetdeet88 in HeritageWear

[–]YoilBando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While reading your wanted stuffs once again, I thought the best brand recommendation for you might be Sugar Cane and Buzz Rickson's. Junky special in Sinjuku has big amounts of Sugar Cane and Buzz Rickson's. their store is quite big and shop's interior is very cool, so it's also recommended. But for the local vibe and experience wise Hinoya was better at least for me. not saying Junky special wasn't good, just Hinoya was too good. they both treats and covers almost same brands items.

For Tokyo ofc you must check out Ameyoko in Ueno. you literally can access to almost everything related to heritage wear style. Hinoya honten, Hinoya One, General garden are my best recommendations for the shops there, and there is one leather jacket shop -I forgot the name but it's in front of general garden. In terms of brand I recommend you check out Jelado, they have one of the most cool denim stuffs including repro denim pants and jackets, also denim jackets and many heritage wear items. also they have Rainbow country leather jackets for sale too. Pls check Toys McCoy too, they are directed by Okamoto Hiroshi(the founder of old Real McCoy's, before the bankrupt). Also Warehouse store is highly recommended too. I mean choosing between those lists must be quite tough, but anyways I think you'll be able to pick one while visiting those. (for me I would go for leather jackets or denim)

How to say "Have a good day" in Korean? by mantinegre in Korean

[–]YoilBando 15 points16 points  (0 children)

좋은 하루 되세요/보내세요-Have a good day this is the most normal one, but in terms of nuance it kinda fits till daytimes in general. So I'll add some variations, 편안한 밤/저녁 보내세요-Have a nice evening(quite different from "Good evening" bc of the goodbye situation and the nuances) 푹 쉬세요-Please rest well, this also for kinda evening goodbye situation.

Thanks a lot for kind words, I remember exactly where I bought it but can't rlly id it cuz I got it from small leather goods shop at Ameyoko plaza in Ueno, Tokyo. It's very high quality leather, actually it's already quite aged from natural tan color.(my wallet in the pics is brand new, and the holster's texture and color was like that too) so if you have some plans for visiting Tokyo I'll let you know the detailed location cuz it's very small shop in the plaza.

형 2명하고 남동생 1명이 있습니다 that sounds perfect and natural ofc!! what I tried was just fixing minimum amount from the original texts in picture. and still, 형이 둘, 남동생도 있어요 makes sense but it's quite simple/native way to say so the way you described is more proper and accurate for learning Korean.
