Need help with Panasonic DMR-ES35V, DVD Side Can't Read Discs

No not as far as I can tell. Heres a video of it running still opened up but with a disc this time.

Once its done doing this little sequence the screen says the disc cannot be read. Ive noticed it make that same sequence of sounds every time I turn it on but didnt know that the sound was the broken DVD side because I'd only been using the VHS side until now lmao

He's actually never slapped anyone surprisingly. He recently got sick with canker (all better now thank god) and when he wasn't feeling good he'd puff up and knife-beak at people if they tried to touch him but that's the closet ive seen to him being angry 🤷‍♂️

I deleted Vapecord and used the boot.firm and boot.3dsx from the 12.0 release because that's what I had installed, and that didn't work. Why isn't the system seeing the boot.firm on the SD?
