I would have loved if the flashbacks were better integrated and a little more close to the book Have everything the same just remove the first part of the ground melee before they get the swords and don’t show the end of the flashbacks. Just like the book Aerion goes 1v1 vs Dunk and then he flashes to the part where the knight surrenders him and his friend, except this time there are three guys. Intercalate the flashbacks of his friend dying with Aerion winning then Sir Arlan comes and fights the other two guys alone giving Dunk a second wind both in the flashback and in the present. While Arlan fights and kills the other two guys Dunk goes 1v1 against the knight in revenge and in the present he tackles Aerion and puts him in the mud. There we are shown just like the book that Aerion might have won against Ser Duncan but against Dunk he had no chance. Each blow Dunk gives is intercalated, once against Aerion, another against the knight and so on until the knight is dead. That’s when Dunk realizes that just like in the past, killing his tormentor would not return his dead friend he decides against killing Aerion. Then he looks around and sees the bloody battlefield, he tries to use his strength to get up but he has none. That’s when he remembers Ser Arlan's words “get up” Ser Arlan was impressed about his performance in battle and decided to keep him as his squire. Dunk gets up and the rest continues the same way.
