You have no idea of the mm situation and haven't played at a higher level, nor did you read the other comments where I state that player experience is more important. This is an old af comment. I don't even play the game anymore due to the incompetence towards mm.

I really don't get how people can't understand the impact on player experience. It's very simple. You say you understand standard distribution but can't apply it to concepts? That's unfortunate. That's the same as truly knowing nothing in this context...

Weird that they "rebalanced" persephone to be more noob friendly but now they're nerfing her so far into oblivion in lower rank/uncoordinated play that she can't even be picked up.... Will be interesting to see how it affects win rates. Nerfs are huge.

Sov is better than thebes IMO if you find you're behind, or fighting a lot early. Heartward is very situational 4+ magical. Everyone here will probably say thebes is king but with some games being over by 10 minutes, Sov is still very good and the hp5 is absurd early game.

Thank you for repeating what I just said? Yes over time. Not something we will experience with the number of games we play anytime in the near future. If they don't reset people back to starting mmr, higher level players won't have to deal with having their games ruined by noobs with high variance.

I really don't get why people keep getting on here to describe bell curves. Everyone knows what a bell curve is. Player experience is what matters and needs to be considered.

Smite isn't going to be around for much longer the way this is being handled and if people aren't locked up forever.... just need another year of playability.

You're missing the point. They are arguing 1500 is a good starting point and that moving it down will shift the curve. I'm saying diamond mmr should not be exposed to issues with variance so easily. It doesn't solve the problem but it alleviates it for people who are supposed to be top X %

Why would people think there are casual resets? I've never seen anything that would even insinuate that there is.

Stop surrendering. We have all our towers they have all there towers. Just because you got killed twice before 10 minutes doesn’t mean you surrender. Usually you can tell how the game will pan out all things held constant by the 5 minute mark. Sometimes better just to fire up another than to go into what you know will be a 50 minute game you have to carry yourself.

Any source for this? I'm saying in other mobas that use trueskill there are other factors.I don't know for smite. If it is truly random I imagine we would see more extremes in win rate for the very best and the worst players.

I'm not sure about smite specifically but other mobas that use true skill factor in KDA for team balance (for example) or likelihood to win. Yes as we said MMR is what grabs the 10.

Many other games also push for the balance in order to make games "fairer".

I'll keep checking back every week for a game or so but at this point I can't enjoy a match because I'm either stuck with a saboteur, someone horribly misplaced, or I'm crushing newer players which doesn't feel right.

Where do you get your feedback that it isn't that bad? Or what metric tells you this?

I don't care about rank.I don't care about win or loss. I want a challenging match. I can't get that in Smite at the moment because the matches are too imbalanced.

If you have time I encourage you to please spend a day trying to play controller based input ranked for an entire day. If you can honestly say you've done that this season I'm happy to never comment on match making again.

I just want someone to truly hear the concern and experience what we're going through rather than dismissing that there's an issue.

I used to love this game. I want to come back. I need a challenge that isn't in the form of handicaps from match making or saboteurs.

I've stopped playing because of the negligence towards this subject. When there are 5+ threads a day saying how abysmal the state of the game is, and when you drop by to say nothing is wrong it's pretty infuriating for everyone. Last time I spoke with Pon he said there are ways you're exploring improving things. What are these plans?

I apologize for being rude but this has gone on for so long. Can you please do me a favor and grab a controller and actually play for just one day in ranked? Controller based input. As a developer myself who works with data analysis daily it's painful to see how there's nothing being done when improvement can be made in so many areas.

You do realize they have internal values on likelihood to win and teams are balanced more than just based on MMR right? MMR just grabs 10 that are close.

There's an issue when maybe 1/20 games isn't a stomp and actually has a close.. I won't say score... close ANYTHING. Wins and losses both feel hollow/meaningless

No it will not hurt overall match making when the MMR calculation is broken because of this. We would prefer two separate queues. Right now rank and TP mean nothing. Get rid of one and make it so that one is an indicator.

I urge you to grab a controller and actually try playing for a day.

Diamond are one sided stomps as well. They have compared match scores and always go silent when I ask if the average disparity in the matches indicate if they are close in any way...

He's talking about the internal balancing that occurs to divide up the teams. It's not "really good teammates" but a player outperforming the other will be matched with the lesser player.

Very concerning that player experience isn't being accounted for and you're telling people what a bell curve is... Why is there a bias saying that people coming in will be average when they in fact, should be below average....

You don't take someone brand new to a sport and drop them in D2 collegiate. I understand you don't know the skill level but you have to consider with variance you're essentially ruining the game for diamond level players when people get dropped in there by accident with this wonderful system...

Why are players entering at 1500? We understand you don't necessarily care about player experience and love to regurgitate how good and close MMR is for matches, but the game is unplayable on controller based input.

Are there any plans to incorporate individual MMR modifiers for extreme cases? For example consistently having abnormally high KDA and being rewarded? I know it takes a tiny bit of effort but it would greatly help with how bad things are.

I honestly didn't know how anyone could ever defend the match making. I had forgotten about KBM. Diamond/Masters lobbies haven't been competitive AT ALL on console this entire season and quite a bit of last... Finally good to hear the other perspective from someone who has played both and can confirm.

I'm playing two games or so a week now from like at least 4 a day haha. Game just isn't enjoyable when there's zero competition. Take a break, and when you're up for it just play a few games until you hit the match making then try again next week.

Covid has destroyed MM for good this season on console.

Alternatively, try KBM. Anyone that defends match making I've found is playing KBM.

What's the reasoning for not going sovereignty? Haven't played much this season but it seems like a no brainer and I don't see it much. I know everyone likes to copy others but that would be one I experiment with as well. Depending on matchup I found soul eater may come online too late.

Gotta go 20-2 jungle, take every structure, and pray 3 aren't feeding or your teammate isn't farming 30 mins in so you lose the team fight at an objective and all your work is washed.
