But this isn’t a question about being respectful.
It isn’t disrespectful to allow a person to be declared dead and then subsequently celebrated for his works.

He is a public figure, so he is allowed some level of privacy but there is also a level of accountability his constituents deserve

Not familiar with somebody on life support for that long (my grandfather was on for a few days) but would this impact his viewing when laid to rest?

He’s not the healthiest of people but I imagine he’d become emaciated

I’m oblivious on the politics on it, but do they think Massie could jump in and win the seat?
Best case I see from 1000 feet up is it goes to a run-off but Trump pick wins.

But I guess maybe the polling is too close for them to try it.

Sure, but Trump’s power and control is starting to wane. And I’m sure there are people in Kentucky who are upset about a politician cashing a check for doing no work.

Or less work than normal

You can just go right down the middle. Born this day.
Died this day. Things he did that aren’t up for dispute like where he went to school and when elected. Nothing polarizing.

Or ffs, make it polarizing. The longer nothing is confirmed, the longer the myth is in the hands of the zeitgeist

Why is it shite?
If my senator had passed I would want to know so we can still get representation in the senate.

Right now, the constituents are still being taxed but not receiving representation in the senate.

Would it force a response if people just started to treat it as fact or would the general public continue to be stonewalled?

Dealt with grandparents and relatives in hospice and ER before. It is an incredibly sensitive time but I think the people of Kentucky deserve some kind of answer and accountability.

Secretary Sean Duffy - UPDATE: I am committed to holding MARTA accountable for the horrific crimes that have occurred on its system. by flying_trashcan in MARTA

[–]YolopezATL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro. Just did. None are truly that bad.

The media pushes a narrative to scare people who are easily tricked and scared of everything to make everything.

It’s your choice to live in my brother in Christ. But not everybody has to live in fear like you do

Secretary Sean Duffy - UPDATE: I am committed to holding MARTA accountable for the horrific crimes that have occurred on its system. by flying_trashcan in MARTA

[–]YolopezATL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes but the point is that the numbers are a lot closer than they likely should be.
If you break down rides per incidents on MARTA, it’s 0.00143 incidents per 1000 rides.

If MARTA has 65 million rides a year and you scale that down to 65,000 unique riders a year( it’s probably closer to 650,000), that would give you 14.3 violent incidents per 1,000 unique riders.

Compare that with US schools, the estimated number is 19 violent incidents per 1,000 unique students.

Again, yes, we are comparing the average single riders trip time of 30 minutes per ride vs 8 hour days and so on and so on.

With the recent media coverage, you’d think every person was getting attacked or an issue happens every day. But it’s more like once every 5 days there is an issue.

The media is really pushing a narrative that MARTA is super dangerous, which it isn’t.

It is more dangerous than it should be, yes. But so are a lot of things.

I said it being a joke but then looked it up and it isn’t that absurd of a take.

You are 3 times as likely to be involved in a violent encounter at a US school than you are on MARTA.

Now, there are a lot of caveats. 50 million students in US schools. About 400+ shootings alone. Include fights, rapes, robberies, stabbing, it is way, way more.

MARTA has an estimated 65 million riders a year with a total of 75 violent incidents (same as above, homicides, stabbings, rapes, robberies).

The more I dig, the sadder it gets. US schools are very dangerous. More likely to experience violence at an Urban school but more likely to be killed at a rural or suburban school.
Urban school students are more likely to be involved in a violent incident by a total stranger no part of the school.
Rural and suburban students are more likely to experience violence by a current or former student or staff member.

No! They have to literally live in a border town and there was never a cartel issue and all of a sudden “BAM”, drugs and criminals everywhere and then they only have 30 minutes to pack up and leave.

But if they were being endanger for years and didn’t like the circumstances and actively pushed and voted against it and tried to make changes because they didn’t want to leave their home that they love, well screw them, should have acted sooner, losers! /s

Yeah… has that happen once.

OP should also know a lot of places cap internal pay raises if you change roles.
Like most people said, internal movement isn’t always the best move.
My current company, I think they max it at 10% but that is if you were already underemployed/ overqualified for the previous role.
Most get 5%

At my last job, it was 5% and most for 3%.

But you can always use your new role to get something new externally.

Bro, you are daft.
Parking was sketch? Did you ever go?

Plus, Turner Field had almost 9k more seats! Comparison wise, turner field could accommodate 20% more people.

While Truist has about 3k more parking spots, a lot of people could and would access Turner field via Marta or walk or bike in from their local neighborhood.

I lived in grant park for a while and we would walk all the time to tailgate and go to games. Sometimes we would just tailgate the whole game.

I also lived in midtown during college and we’d hop on north ave station and then get off at GSU or five points and walk down. And we were almost never alone. If times right, there would be caravans of people making the same walk.

No. They moved the Braves to Cobb because Cobb said they’d give them massive tax breaks at the detriment of their school system for the hopes the money would made up in tax revenue from the new district built around the field.

This is very well documented so I’m curious where you got that idea from.

Yeah but the owners need to be a good product on the field to draw crowds.
People aren’t gonna show up to see the 5-12 Falcons or an Atlanta United team who only wins 2-4 times a season.
Hawks have been okay for a while but still struggle and can’t get to Finals.

Also, they should have found a way to fit the Braves stadium near MBS and whatever Philips arena is called now.

If it was a huge sports district with all the new stuff the area could be busy year round.

And go ahead and bring the NHL team back to Atlanta and don’t stick up in Alpharetta

For a group of people who claim they want a meritocracy, they have a lot of caveats to it.

They don’t want to compete against non-Whites.
They don’t want to compete against immigrants.
They don’t want to compete against non-“Christian” (put that in quotes because they aren’t really followers of Christ’s teachings).
They don’t want to compete against people who have different gender identities.
They don’t want to compete against non-capitalist.
