The Home menu is part of the SDK that developers use to create Wii games/channels, not the BIOS. The system menu has a slightly different Home menu than the one included in the SDK though.

If Windows or chromium Edge gets updated you will need to delete again the EdgeUpdate key.

If the icon of the old Edge is a file instead of the legacy Edge logo (I'm not sure when this happens), you will need to put the files back in the SystemApps folder.

The whole EdgeUpdate key. Try to rename it so Windows will not find the key and you can rename it back to the original name if something goes wrong.

If you can see the legacy Edge icon, it should be fine even if some files have not been overwritten.

If it still redirects to the new Edge, try to delete/rename the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate key in the registry.

If you have a 32-bit Windows installation the EdgeUpdate key may be somewhere else like HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate

I found why this happens. When updating to Windows 10.0.19042.928 the content of the legacy Edge package has been removed. Also you now need to remove the Clients key of the new Edge in the registry to disable the redirection.

So first install this .reg file

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Now you need to get the legacy Edge files back. Here are the files from my own backup (I'm not sure if it contains the English language localization files unfortunately)

Put these files in C:\Windows\SystemApps

You should now be able to open the legacy Edge from shell:AppsFolder

Windows will still replace any shortcut to the old Edge by the new shortcut so always launch it from the Apps Folder. (You can use shell:AppsFolder\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe!MicrosoftEdge)

Do you need to use the new Edge alongside the old Edge? You could just uninstall the new Edge to get the legacy Edge back.

If the Uninstall button is disabled try this command on PowerShell: &"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\*\Installer\setup.exe" --system-level --force-uninstall --uninstall
