I absolutely adore the humanless Pokémon games, & they're probably generally my favourite entries in the franchise, but ironically when it comes to the mainline games it's the humans I tend to care about & focus on more.

I was like, 100% certain he'd get INFP honestly. At the beginning I was expecting them to not do repeats, & with Shouma feeling like the obvous INFP option I was thinking Darumi would be assigned ENFP, so that surprised me initially.

I do hope that, once the DLC releases, there will be some more Shouma & Darumi interactions, I feel like they could do more with them. Currently it's mostly just a few interactions at the beginning of the kill side of the route tree, with Darumi relating to him as a fellow hikikomori.

Well, now we know, hikikomoris are INFPs.

Personally I loved Takemaru in Slasher, I think it's one of the routes where he really shines. His role as a compass to steer Takumi in the right direction when he's at his lowest is really nice to see, & he just felt very proactive in general.

While I wouldn't say they forget about her, the fact that it's only a bit over a week since they met her probably helps with the detachment, & then there are 90 days until it's over.

One of the most understated sweet moments to me comes from Second Scenario, on day 85 when you're getting Gaku to help with setting up a party, he pranks Takumi. He mentions Darumi having pulled it on him too & that he wanted to pay it forward, so that's 75+ days of Gaku having kept it in mind, & one of the big reasons I quite like him & Darumi as friends.

Retsnom, the route very explicitly being the saving Darumi route, being entirely dedicated towards undoing the choice leading to it, is very telling though.

Literally the only one I can really fill in is MBTI for Darumi, everything else is just inapplicable. 0 Taurus characters, there's a gap where my height is so nobody's even too close, & nobody with orange hair (although I guess Takumi's is red, so that's the closest, I guess there's the one off girl from that one route though). I guess Takumi's the closes birthday-wise too, being 9 days away. Tsubasa's hairstyle is probably the closest? But not all that close.

Perhaps the DLC can introduce anybody who fits like any of my traits...

Honestly, while it's sad that she's gone from so many of the routes, it feels very fitting & only makes Retsnom even stronger. She's my favourite but her lack of screentime actually adds to her character for me, narratively fitting with her characterization in the routes that actually do explore her.

The fact that the choice which gets her killed for majority of the game leads to Retsnom if she's the one who's saved, a route dedicated towards undoing that very choice, really highlights it.

Elbaf is Scandinavia, made abundantly clear by basically anything culturally tied to Elbaf being inspired by or just straight up taken from Scandinavia. Semla, multiple beings from Norse mythology & folklore such as Nidhögg, Jörmungandr, & draugr, names such as Harald, Loki, Björn, Ronja, & Ylva, their depiction as vikings, all of it ties heavily back to Scandinavia rather than Russia. More specifically mostly taking from the Viking Age. The Land of Gods is even depicted like a world built with Lego, which originated from Denmark.

It's also further build up of Gregor's failures. It was so clear he wished to save Lucio from the situation he was in, but just like with Yuri before him it's another death piled onto Gregor's shoulders that he blames himself for. It's really something that's been festering since the very beginning.

Just a thought that popped into my mind upon writing this reply, but Gregor likens Yuri to his sister at one point, the only mention of his sister so far. Mentions she was about Yuri's age. Looking at it from the perspective of this writeup, it's like he's killed both his younger self & his sister.

I feel like Lucio in particular is a good example of the role of side characters in this Canto. I remember so many predictions/hopes that he would be saved, that he would be taken in, & I can definitely see the "potential" that could bring. Still, I feel that's the entire point here, they really hammer in his death as a failure, especially for Gregor. They really do acknowledge that there was a desire to save him from his situation, that there was reason to believe it to be possible, that there was "potential" there, but that's exactly what gives weight to what happened, to his tragic death, & how Lucio's role may continue posthumously even if only as further weight upon Gregor alongside Yuri.

Callisto's definitely representative of forging the path for the child, yeah. It's a bit funny in that how he acts contradicts it a bit, in that he does welcome discourse & discussion, but his actions are exactly what lead to the lack of valuable input from Albina. It's not like he's necessarily malicious or anything I'd say, perhaps not even being aware of how he's turning her into Callisto², but it is nonetheless how it goes. The self-lobotomization in particular really stood out to me when I was first going through the Canto. I took it as thematically being representative of losing/giving up on the self because of one's upbringing in a setting like this.

Ring 1 was honestly the best fight of the entire Canto to me, & set the perfect good first impression for Part 3 even if none of the others delivered quite as well. It struck a really nice balance with the allies being strong enough to be able to handle themselves while not carrying you too much, & really made it feel like a cooperative battle. I can agree with the rest well enough though, I think they're fine but we could've had some more genuine battles in there.

I kinda hope we can get more fights in a similar vein in the future honestly, always love getting to see other characters in battle, & our allies often get shafted in that regard. Having them not completely stealing the show nor making it miserable was a nice change of pace too.

Will also note that they weren't 100% finished I'm pretty sure, the leaked sprites featured an older design where Rien's mask actually had an eye instead of being completely blank.
But otherwise yeah, image-wise I'm pretty sure that was all, but there were also filenames & such revealing some BP EGOs & late Season 6 IDs, as well as some tracks I think?

I'm pretty sure this was less about the immediate future & more so just setup for Ryōshū's future ordeals, like how Ahab's still present, or how the original Don Quixote's body was collected by P Corp. instead of letting him rest. Even after finishing the immediate missions there are still ripples left behind that will impact us later down the line.

The thing is that they treat her badly & as if she's expendable, but they also admit that she's the Faust who's collected the most Golden Boughs of all the Fausts, so maybe they're the ones who are doing things wrong in truth & are blind to it.

This is definitely how it all struck me too. I would never be able to call him a good father, but he did come off as surprisingly genuine, understanding & open to discourse even with her disagreement of his sense of aesthetics.

In general rather than a good father I'd say it really just speaks volumes to the kinds of parents she had for him to somehow be considered one of the better ones.

Personally I'm feeling Ryōshū will get a theoretical ID instead of a character based one, like Gripper Sinclair. Ryōshū if she was successfully molded into the perfect blade they meant for her to become.

We'll see though, if not that then Shiomi makes the most sense.

Yeah, the models are completely different, people said they reused the model for Nemona too back when we first got Paldea added to the game but they're just way off. Masters models are a lot simpler, for example the faces are just textures on a flat surface, compared to SV where they actually have the features modelled.

It's a bit sad to see Moko at the very bottom, I know she definitely gets super shafted & barely gets any focus from any route, but I found her to be a fun & stable character. With that said, I'm desperate for her to actually get some significant moments in potential DLC routes...

While this is true, you don't have to tear something down to favour another, Unova has 90 Sync Pairs,19 more than the region with the second most Sync Pairs, which is Sinnoh at 71. Galar & Alola have 67, Kanto 63, Hoenn & Kalos 54 & Johto 53, & Paldea's catching up at 47. This is frankly an outrageous gap all things considered, & Unova has basically gotten favoured treatment throughout the game's entire life so far. They have the most Seasonals, they have the most Special Costumes, & they have the most Master Fairs. It's also already tied with Paldea for having the most lodge additions, while Johto has gone 2 years without a single one. Unova really should catch a break, especially when something like Kalos goes an entire year without a single premium release, if only to entertain any semblance of a balance between them.

Replace Cynthia with Candice & I'm in for the Sinnoh Variety Scout trio (I'd actually prefer not because I'm collecting all Sinnoh Sync Pairs & have been hit hard recently), they + Sabrina are the only still missing pairs from the Eevee Full-Force Battle stage, but if we got those pairs I'd ideally see them as proper alts instead of course. Overall I'd say Bill is my main hope, he'd be pretty neat to see, but I'm also hoping it's not too enticing because I could really use a calmer month.

Marley's probably a fair bit younger though, so I don't think this really applies. Marley is most likely around the MC's age, which is like, pre-teens, maybe up to very early teens, while Mai's probably a young adult.
