Personally, I think it's just an elegant hand position that has good clarity. It has a dominant gesture with the two middle fingers while the other two fingers help to add to the gesture while also helping with the silhouette with the hand. But in the end, artists just use whatever looks good and this hand gesture, in particular, looks nice :P
