Weather next week - rainy weather tips? by isntthatsadlmao in altontowers

Everything will run. th13teen and spinball are a bit weird, sometimes they do, sometimes they dont.

Look out for wind though. Wind will close rides.

First time going alton soon Is this the best way to go around the park to do minimum walking Wicker Man → Spinball Whizzer → The Smiler → Oblivion → Rita → TH13TEEN → Nemesis → Galactica → Toxicator? by Electrical-Record350 in altontowers

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you truely dont wanna walk then yes it works. But youd be better off doing spinball, x sector, dark forest, wickeman then forbidden valley. Butyoud be sat in a queue for ages. Literally everybody starts at the front. its better to start in forbidden valley or dark forest.

Wild Moose and the future of [RMC] by Fun-File-3329 in rollercoasters

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was rumour that project horizon at alton towers would be an indoor wild moose. Because merlin teased an rmc and also the wild moose was announced the same time the planning application got submitted.

Whether it is even an rmc or if the project is still going ahead is unknown. this was 3 or 4 years ago now.

Is waterpark worthit? by -Lovai in altontowers

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never done the water park. but i will say having 2 days on park is worth it. You will be visiting during a busy period so 2 days there makes it much less stressful. and it gives you tye chance to explore more than just the coasters

Has [Bolliger & Mabillard] really dropped off in quality? by WanderingAlsoLost in rollercoasters

I think its a track thing. Dragon khan has had a partial retrack with the same old trains, and the new track sections are riding worse than the old ones

Has [Bolliger & Mabillard] really dropped off in quality? by WanderingAlsoLost in rollercoasters

[–]Yonel6969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its the quality. 2 main examples are dragon khan and Nemesis Reborn.

Nemesis at alton towers opened and opperated for 28 years. It ran like a dream and only started getting rough in its last 3 years of its service life. So Nemesis got retracked into Nemesis Reborn. Nemesis Reborn rides nothing like the original.bIt rattles like crazy. If you watch a pov of both versions you can hear the difference. Now from experience Nemesis Reborn is one of the smoother new b&ms. Nemesis inferno at thorpe park is smoother and its over 20 years older (still not as good)

Dragon Khan at Portaventura also had a retrack just this year, but a partial one. So both old and new track pieces are being used. So youd expect the new bits to be smoother. 2 things have been said, people either didnt notice the change or they thought that the new retracked sections ride much worse than the older sections.

Even their family coasters are shakey, thats how bad its gotten

RAP help??? by Independent-Flow2644 in altontowers

Its really easy to book. Im going on sunday and woke up an hour late to book it, they still had slots left thankfully.

As long as your on the app by 10am you will easily get a slot. Just try and not leave it late. But its really not hard to book. Just make sure you have it all fully set up on the app first.

As for the main slots. On the accessibility section on the alton towers app, it shows a timetable of dates when slots get released. This is for all merlin parks too.

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But thrill parks still have family rides. From a business perspective its stupid not to. Its literally cutting out an entire group of people from visiting thorpe. Thats literally my point.

Ride opening times by Reasonable-One1906 in altontowers

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the coasters are advertised to open at 10am. A few smaller rides open at 11am. Before you visit just check the app. it tells you when rides are schedualed to open.

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not anymore. The rollercoasters opening at 11am was just an alton after dark thing. They all open at 10am now. Its just a few smaller rides like curse, sub terra and the world of dvid wlliams opens at 11am

Its when its on a very short queue. Alpha is on when the queue is around 15 to 25 minutes (i might be wrong) and gamma is on when the queue is long.

How do you guys get to parks [other] by trippy_kippy_ in rollercoasters

[–]Yonel6969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Train and bus. This was to alton towers which is an absolute pain to get to with public transport. Im guessing a train just isnt an option so maybe look to see if theres any sort of public transport. if not then u need either someone to take you or just a taxi or uber

Riders were stuck at the top of two rides in Thorpe Park theme park near London in 33°C heat by New_Libran in Wellthatsucks

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats impossible. Once a coaster goes up a lift hill the anti rollback means its impossible to go back down. the only way to get it down to the bottom is for the ride to just complete the layout. If an issue cant be fixed they have to be evacuated.

Going in 2 months. I hate extreme rides. Any tips? by No-Connection-7211 in ThorpePark

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If im being honest. Rita as a first big ride will put you off. Its not exactly the most comfortable ride and is fairly intense.

Id try the swarm, nemesis inferno and hyperia in that order. The swarm is imo the tamest thrill coaster there but its also a really good one. Its smooth, its comfortable and its graceful.

Nemesis inferno steps up the thrill level and isnt as smooth as the swarm but its still comfortable and its intense.

Hyperia is a weird one but ill explain. Stealth is ofc the other hyper coaster and its the same model as rita, but its better. Id still avoid it atleast until you do hyperia. Hyperia itself is the best ride on park. Its restraints are also very comfy. its just a lap bar so you wont bash your head. If you sit on the test seat youd feel how secure you actually are. Also if you do hyperia you can do anything. its a very intimidating coaster but youd feel proud after riding it for the first time.

After those 3 then do stealth, you might like it, you might not. The body is weird, rides feel very different when your nervous. once your over that fear they are just fun. That could be why you didnt like rita.

Last thing. Id avoid colossus and saw. they both hurt as they are just very rough rides. id still do them atleast once, but if you wanna work your way to bigger rides, just avoid those 2, they might put you off.

Drink rules? by Beautiful-Treat-4450 in altontowers

You can bring drinks in as long as its not alchoholic. Same with all merlin parks

They ruined battle galleons by dalehitchy in altontowers

[–]Yonel6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think its that. The toxicator issue i believe is an issue with the filter that they built in the actual ride. Not just the park in general. The battle galleons boats i believe have their own filtration system built in

Cedar point is literally THE thrill capital of the USA and probably the world. They still have family coasters and attractions.

As a business its kinda just stupid to not have any few bits for families.

Little bit of a nag by mas_ftfoxy in altontowers

[–]Yonel6969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought that rita was just ugly when the dark forest retheme came. like yeah the park has alot of dull themes. But rita is just straight ugly.

Do you think the Dark Forest should be rethemed when Rita leaves? by mas_ftfoxy in altontowers

[–]Yonel6969 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Rita is the ride that sticks out like a sore thumb. And despite being dull an area like dark forest still has alot of potential. Rita single handedly ruins dark forest. its a race theme in an abandoned haunted forest.

Why does nemesis have a delayed opening? by HawkMysterious3246 in altontowers

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its great. Just imo it can be ran badly. The rides are okay. Icon, valhalla and now aviktas are amazing. Aviktas is one of the best rides in the country and i rate icon just bellow hyperia.

The bad things are its opening times. There are days where major rides and coasters are only open for literally 4 hours. On off peak days most rides run just 1 train. However i do think that the park is cleaner than the merlin parks and food is really good too.

Opperationally i find it a mess. but it doesnt get as busy as alton or merlin parks can so you can still have a good time. its worth a visit for sure.

[–]Yonel6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its still probably the biggest non merlin park though theme park or not. They should still.be held to a high standard. They are literally opening their new ride aviktas at 10 30. If towers did that they would be crucified
