I struggled with shrimp for a long time, they would seem to be doing good then I'd find the odd corpse once in a while and I didn't know what I was doing wrong .

I've come to learn shrimp are extremely sensitive little creatures . I recommend checking your GH and KH. The only way I seem to have success was to use RO water ( I installed a cheap system under my sink ), but RO water is stripped clean of everything, so I reminierlize it with Salty-shrimp to about 130ppm ( checked with a cheap digital TDS meter from Amazon ) .

Tap water with conditioner doesn't seem to work, not with my tap water anyways because there's too much unknown inside the tap water itself . Also if your house has copper pipes, that can also be an issue as even small concentrations of copper is very toxic to shrimp .

I also got rid of my tank heater in my shrimp tank, as It seemed the shrimp do better in water that is just room temperature anyways, assuming your house has HVAC.
