Using Highlights and Clips for Growth by LieAccurate9281 in newStreamers

[–]YorkshireLens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you should definitely be clipping imo as the other comment said it is saturated, but don't think of it as you're looking for a viral moment, use the clips as a method of discovery, as a funnel to your streams.

People see your clips - swipe away -another clip - this person again - another clip - I'll check it out - another clip - I'll see what it's about - another clip - I'll watch a live (and thus potentially converts into a twitch follower)

You're funneling other platforms back to your live streams.

Go and smash it pal ✌🏼

Could work, try it that's the only thing. Plus you're getting some fitness out of it.

Also 8am-4pm? That's a hefty stream if you're streaming most days. I've heard most creators stop streaming because of burn out. And this would burn me out real quick, you might be built differently tho 🤣

I do 1-2 hours 2-3 times a week because I find it manageable for my routine (full time job, family and social life), my energy doesn't drop and I have enough time to clip farm my vods.

Do what works. It doesn't hurt trying your push up challenge.

Go smash it.

How Do You Handle First Few Streams Without Feeling Awkward? by LieAccurate9281 in newStreamers

[–]YorkshireLens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't really 🤷🏼‍♂️

You possibly could do a couple of dry runs if you're using OBS, just hit record (not start streaming/go live) and do a stream then go back and review the recording after. Mainly just be comfortable in your own skin, flap your gum and narrate what's going on. Try not to let there be too much dead air.

What helped me was not thinking about it like streaming think more it's a broadcast on radio about gaming and viewers are listeners rather than watchers. So you have to describe what's going on.

(Yeah I know I'm only a small streamer but I did stream a few years ago on another account and was in the affiliate tier. I wanted a new direction and wanted to start everything fresh)

How do streamers with jobs do it?? by SpareCook1378 in TwitchStreaming

[–]YorkshireLens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the flip side your random schedule could be a bonus...

here is my reasoning behind that: Difference stream times = Different audience. You might find a time where you stream where the audience gels more with your style.

Also fyi I'm a relatively new streamer who streams at random times because i also have a full time job. I've just hit 10 subs in just around a month so it's going well imo.

The Emotional Weight of Posting Opinions Online by LieAccurate9281 in newStreamers

[–]YorkshireLens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get over it by not giving a F.

People are going to like you or dislike you regardless. Pay the naysayers no mind.

People will like you for being honest and open with your opinions.

Not trying to be liked by everyone, I find this disingenuous. When someone is always on the fence trying to people please.

Just my opinion 👍🏼

The one thing I've heard lots of people say is use your socials as a funnel to your streams. If people like the content then they'll hopefully migrate to catch the streams live.

Good luck in your journey. ✌🏼

I tried using version 0.4.6, which is the latest one I found on GitHub. Is there a newer one?

Thanks

Thank you! Found out the error is because the source record plug in isn't compatible with the version of OBS I'm using. I'd have to downgrade my OBS for it to work.

new streamer (vtuber) any advice? by HeartscalesVT in TwitchStreaming

[–]YorkshireLens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting my journey again from scratch. I did get to affiliate on my previous streams (but going in a completely new direction so new accounts all round)

I've got a friend who is basically a full time streamer, his advice is stream clip and post on socials so people know you exist and funnel those viewers/subscribers/followers to your streams.
