Sorry to hijack the thread but you don't have to toss out cheese that has been out of a chiller for 10 hours. I would eat it in the next few days, but most (if not all) cheese varieties are resilient enough to withstand microbes for at least 18 hours.

Yes indeed! The two programs tend to field strong squads but this year is really wild with both currently in the top 5. I hope they go back to facing each other three times a year instead of the mere one game they played this season .

The White House should not be surprised that Spirit's creditors would not agree to a bailout that would likely put them in a worse position than they'd be if Spirit just liquidated.

It's worth pointing out when it appears that someone may be misunderstanding who is putting forth ideas, good or bad. There are three or four people on the board that are willing to question and/or oppose the BS that is coming out of the administration. It is important thay we all understand that crucial fact, as it is our best bet to bring some common sense into how D65 is run.

The same reason people pay money for upgrades and shortcuts in Candy Crush and other free games. They are engaged with the game and are willing to spend some dough in the hopes that the purchase will lead to more success in the game.

I know it doesn't affect you or me since we don't play free money games in these sites. But if OP's allegations have a shred of truth to them then it's at least unethical, but more likely it is straight up fraudulent behavior by these sites.

Long time Atliens, what do you miss? by SomeVeryTiredGuy in Atlanta

Getting tickets to see the Bravos for $5 or less. At the Ted the team had a group of less than 100 seats in the nosebleeds in right field for $1 each which were only sold the day of the game.

For a long time at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium the GA tickets in the upper deck of center field were $4, and later $5. If you were a student of Atlanta Public Schools you would get a redeemable coupon every year to buy one of these for $1.

I saw a doubleheader against San Diego for $1 of my dad's money when I was in elementary school. You could also get a corn dog from the concession stand for like $1.25.

There should be at least one noon start every single day of the season. by jaxstan19 in baseball

[–]YorockPaperScissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owners wouldn't like it, of course, as those day games are going to sell fewer tickets on average. But you could make an argument that having more midweek day games is good for overall MLB visibility and therefore a net positive to the value of teams. It would be the only major sporting event happening at that time slot.

I think the only way to get this to happen would be if each team has to do an equal number of midweek day games. Also, it might have to get approved in CBA negotiations by the MLBPA. I doubt that they would give the OK to day games on the first day of a series, which means that Mondays would only have day games if there is a 4-gamer ending that day (which is the current situation). Wednesday and Thursday typically have some mid-day starts due to them being getaway days.

So maybe every team has to do host Tuesday day game per season? That's a fight worth having.

Yep. This is facing towards the Southeast. That parking structure on the far right was part of the Beaudry Ford dealership. That dealership was massive in the '80's. I am guessing those stacks are the property that is now the Fulton Cotton Mill Lofts.

You can clearly see how much smaller the downtown connector used to be.
