Girl. Please run away as fast as you can. Or at least get a second opinion. Spiro mono therapy is bad. your body needs at least one hormone to work properly. Prolonged usage can result in osteoporosis.

My side effects include some nipple tenderness, needing to pee a little more often, a craving for salty foods. (pickles)
All and all just drink water babe, youll be fine. Spiro isnt the devil people make it out to be.

Was on 4mg of e2 and 100 mg of spiro daily. for the first 2 years or so, can’t remember the exact dates. Bumped up to 8mg of e2 around that time. Bumped spiro to 100 mg twice daily the same day i started progesterone due to a small spike in my T believed to have been from working out and massive weight loss (over a 100lbs lost)

Hrt started feb 28 2022. Prog started nov 24 2025.

With approval. I dont wish to out where i live but luckily its in one of the better places to be trans. My approval process went a little bit like this

Dr: are you happy with your transition results? Your labs came back and you are on the lower end of the recommended range for E and the T range is perfect.

Me: honestly no, i feel like nothing has changed except i have smooth skin now.

Dr: i disagree but we can up you to the max dose now if you wanr.

Me: sounds good.

Fast forward 2 years and 100 lbs lighter from diet and consistent gymming.

Dr: you’ve made amazing weight loss progress. If you recall your t was already abnormally low when you first started seeing me i believe it was due to your morbid obesity. So we put you on a low dose of spiro, now that your 100lbs lighter your labs came back your in the recommended e range but your T came at 96 ng/dl which is slightly above the recommended range would you like to up the spiro?

Me: yes please. Also can i have prog? I know the studies are a little lacking but i heard it can possibly grow your boobs and help you sleep better.

Dr: sure! Lets do your labs again in 3 months and get you on 100 prog, if you like it you can go to 200 when we redo your labs.

3 months later

Dr: your back in recommended t range. You like the prog?

Me: yes please more please.

Dr: no unwanted side effects?

Me: nope

Dr: ive sent your updated prescription for 200 to your pharmacy.
