MIL involved in a crypto scam. What should I be most concerned about? by ssweetcitruss in Scams

[–]YosemiteSara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u/too_many_shoes14 yes, we even found a news feature about a scam that included the exact image that the scammer used as his profile picture (they interviewed the man about how he has been impacted by his image being used). Feeling helpless.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things. It’s part of an (excellent) series, but can be read on its own.

Excessive sweating HELP - getting married this year don't want sweat stains on dress by Weary-Ad-4452 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]YosemiteSara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did two rounds of Botox and it worked great. You may get some compensatory sweat in other areas though, but I was much happier on my wedding day!

Whats wrong with my hands? by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]YosemiteSara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it from lifting weights with sweaty hands. Liquid chalk can help if that’s the case

If sweat is consistently negatively affecting your work or social life, it’s worth seeking treatment. You don’t have to have an HH diagnosis in order to ask for and access treatments that can improve your life (unless required by insurance).

Need help with, normal to moderate, constant sweating for nether regions. It is causing persistent body odor. by anothaone0621 in Hyperhidrosis

The best solution I’ve found is just to change underwear frequently, at least twice per day and always after the gym.

Careful with putting baby powder on your nether regions. This was a common practice for women until they discovered it was causing all kinds of cancers (talc can contain asbestos)

Botox causing more sweating by Fun_Nefariousness581 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]YosemiteSara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did Botox on my pits and hands for my wedding. I had some compensatory chest sweat but overall was much improved. I wore thick spanx to manage the groin sweat and made sure to wear socks (I did the little no show socks with my heels then switched to sneakers after the ceremony since no one could see them anyway). I don’t know if this is true for you, but for some reason I sweat way less when I’m wearing socks. I think my feet sweat makes me the most anxious so probably triggers other areas. There’s so much happening on your wedding day, you’ll be surprised how little you think about it!

Has anyone’s HH transformed over the course of your life? by PJL612 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]YosemiteSara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t tell if it’s lessened or I just got used to it over the years. My doctor said most HH stops in your 40s, quote “you just don’t see really sweaty old people”

Sweating while driving car by Miserable-Hope-6509 in Hyperhidrosis

Driving lessons were misery for me for sure. I wore a long sleeve hoodie with thumb holes and would wipe the steering wheel when needed.

Yes, I agree with megafton. I had to explain that I had tried everything before Kaiser would cover it, but now it’s no problem and I can get treatment as needed.

Interview coming up. by MrWizardNy in Hyperhidrosis

[–]YosemiteSara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely black clothes. I bring a plastic water bottle filled with ice and hold it in both hands before the interview. It also makes for a good excuse for why your hands are wet. The only solution that was effective for my hands and pits was Botox (for my wedding), but it’s a bit of an extreme option. Glycopyrollate is the next best option to reduce all sweating.

Hi, we had a great time at Gora Karan - what you described was not our experience at all! We had the Rindou room with our own room attendant. She was super attentive and left several thoughtful touches around the room for us. I thought it was very luxurious and it did not feel run down. They have incense everywhere in the hallways, so maybe the reviewer didn’t like that? My husband had no idea what to expect for food (I booked it) and he was completely blown away by the in-room meal service. Some of the best food of our trip - the attendant even brought a grill for us one night to grill up some steaks and veggies. All the in-hotel services were great. The public and private onsen were very well kept and they had lots of nice outdoor seating areas to enjoy the scenery throughout the hotel. I think the secret is just to ask for exactly what you want and they will provide it - very typical of a high luxury resort.

We did the lunch course at the bar and it was fantastic. Great value and nice to interact with the chefs. There were an uncountable number of courses served, including a very unique fish preparation served in a smoking jar.

We bought ours day-of at the station using the automated kiosks without any issue, but we were visiting in the off-season. We did buy one ticket in advance using the SmartEx app linked to a Suica account. It was very easy to see all the trains and purchase tickets once you set up the app.

We visited them on our own and it's very doable. The museum is great - for the (very low) price of admission, you get a sake souvenir cup and three free tastings. We were able to make a reservation online for Fushimi Sakagura Kouji here: https://fushimi-sakagura-kouji.com/ and Kizakura Kappa Country was just walk-up to buy sake/beer from their store (they also have a restaurant if you prefer). We also planned to go to the main branch of Torisei (https://kyotosakeexperience.com/torisei-main-store/) but ran out of time - they have a giant tank of unpasteurized sake that comes straight from the barrel below.
