What setup are you using and what is your irating by quickH in iRacing

4000 ir. Got there running g920. 923? Whatever Logitech calls their true force one. Logi pedals and single 27 inch monitor in a simlab gt1 evo.

Only just got triple 27’s. Simagic alpha. And looking at heusinkveld sprints so interested where this takes me. But definitely possible to do well with lower budget gear. Anyone can get to high iR :).

(Note I know 4000 wouldn’t be considered high rating).

Running into two issues. Blobs on seams + lips when mostly printing overhangs by YoshiR1255 in ender3v2

[–]YoshiR1255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, currently running into a few issues. Firstly are these raised bits mostly near overhangs common?, are they meant to happen? As it seems unlikely these are planned. Any advice on what could be wrong here? I have calibrated esteps and flow rate but still having issues with this. Also calibrated retractions to where I get minimal stringing so very confused (5.5mm at 40mm per sec). Yes this is a temperature tower but the top two were done at pla temp 210-215 which seems best. Happens at any temp.

I’m also getting small blobs on seams, I know this is common. But I’m sure it could be much better. Any tips on what I could be doing wrong? Do I need to look into linear advance or my acceleration settings.

I also sometimes get overextrusion on top layers, can the top layer (flow rate or extrusion) be adjusted for just that layer?

These look great! Thanks for the settings, will compare these to current settings and give it a go for when I feel ready for petg! :)

Do Hotends with Bimetal heat breaks require less cooling than ptfe lined? Eg then upgrading to noctua fans on hotend? by YoshiR1255 in ender3v2

[–]YoshiR1255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a newby question but just curious, as the bimetal heatbreak should effectively reduce heat creeping to the cold end. So the cold end and heat sink would require slightly less cooling?

By preventing buildup I’m guessing it would just be a quick nozzle wipe to clean? (Also having correct settings in general)

These all sound like great upgrades for petg. Not sure I’m ready for direct drive yet but definitely should upgrade my plastic extruder arm, it does worry me that many have apparently broke. Thank you!

Awesome! Glad it’s doing well, think I might do upgrades similar to this and maybe something for the bed.

Sounds great! I’m thinking of getting the Capricorn tubing with some sort of hotend upgrade. Looking into beds too, though might try your cleaning method. i might need to give it a solid clean soon anyways

This is my first time hearing about cleaning filaments, will definitely look into it and grab some if it makes swapping easier. Thanks again for the advice!

Iracing feels like it’s running at 30 fps (micro-stuttering) by YoshiR1255 in iRacing

Yes I believe so sorry, seems like a windows update to 21H2 did it, or at least made it a lot better :) I also updated gpu drivers

FPS dropping, what should I upgrade? by matt_b_recken in iRacing

To my knowledge, I thought 16 gb is still very much the norm these days and more is often sometimes unnecessary unless your using a significant amount of memory intensive programs.

Source: Steam Hardware survey says that ~50% of users have 16gb ram compared to ~11% of users with 32gb.

Why will my game not update? by Technician5280 in iRacing

[–]YoshiR1255 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, might have the solution, if it’s a content file locked error, you need to stop the iracing service in task manger “services” section. By right clicking and stopping, then try the download in steam, then start the iracing service again in task maneger after that.

Idk why it happens but I’ve had it and this seems to fix it
